Other Clubs...Same Date!?
If I read the Deal's Gap calender correctly....
It appears that our weekend will be shared with three other clubs...
Miata Club
Mx-6/Mazda Club
Porsche Club
Will this be an issue?

I hardly doubt our fellow Mazda brotheren will be annoyed with our presence. In fact, we'll be the "Cool Big Brother" that they'll all want to hang with. And the Porche......as long as they don't spill their wine on the asphalt, we'll all be okay.

Nope, no issue. We win, the 7 can't lose! We have dibs on the damn dam so pfft! From what I've read on those forums a while back it sounded like maybe another 20 cars on the dragon besides us... I've heard the big Miata meet later on hits 400 cars. This is just like the North Carolina versions of the PCA and Miata Club so I don't see any problem.

I think we are going to be the big group by far. I think the others are mostly local/small groups, like the miata group is just a group from NC somewhere, maybe Charlotte, probably not more than 20-30 cars max.

Unfortunately, there will be about 20 Porsches coming..
And same with Mazda 6 (10-15 or so cars) and MX-5s (Maybe 20 or so).
By Far we will be the largest group out there!! I'm guessing around 125+ cars??

Just as long as nobody confuses my 91 FC for a Porsche.... yes it's happened before hah!
I still see no problem with that many other people coming. It's not like there's going to be 200 cars on the road going one way at the same time. As long as they understand lead, follow or get out of the way.

i just realized my local club (various cars, about a dozen of us) will be up there, too. i'll be in my STi (i doubt my FD will be back together in time), but i'd love to meet everyone and hang out. so if you see a random asshat in a silver STi wearing a "Rotary - My anti-piston" shirt, it's me!

"Darkside" would have been a vet or Supra and i did consider a zo6 but just can not drop 70k+ right now. My Porsche is a "996". They were made from 99-04.
I think the bottom line is my family and work. The twins are 4 now and are getting involved in sports and such. Also back and forth from AL-TN for work, I just do not have the time it takes to enjoy (work on) my FD like I want too.

I am leaving the 911 in my garage and bringing my FD. I have heard there will be about 30 Porsches out there.
Lastly, please no **** talking about the PCA they are a cool bunch with great-engineered reliable cars (ours a bit unreliable at times but great mechanical concept too). It should be a great time.

I have much respect for the Porsche guys. One of my first driving schools was with the Porsche Club at Beaver Run in PA. Great group of guys.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
