"OFFICIAL" Lodging for DGRR 2006

Finally we have lodging worked out for DGRR 2006.

Fontana Village will give us a deal!!

This is what the manager wrote me:

Hi Philip,
I'm sorry it took me a bit to get back to you. I have been on temp
lay-off and have been in and out...
I'm glad to see that you guys are coming back to ol' Fontana Village.
There are major changes taking place all over the Village right now.
Every room in the hotel is currently undergoing a complete remodel,
which has been badly needed for some time now. The only unfortunate
result of this remodel is that the price must go up. I will try not to
shock the members of your group too much, but I think paying a little
more won't be a big deal once they check in to brand new rooms. In
fact, many in your group could actually be the first overnighters in
these rooms...
Last year your rate was $48 for a room at the inn. This year it will be
$59. That reflects a 25% discount from rack rate. I will keep the rate
on Laurel cottages and Willow cottages the same this year, however they
are scheduled for a remodel this year as well, but until that happens we
won't change it..
The rates for the remaining accommodations are as follows:
Dogwoods: $66
Laurels: $71
2 BR Azalea: $159
3 BR Azalea: $168
Magnolias: $168
2 BR Hemlock: $108
Log Cabins: $168

I will go ahead and set up the room block larger that last year. I'll
use your contact information and mail it out to you.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Talk to you soon.
-John

If you want more information about Fontana Village, Goto:

www.fontanavillage.com

Please book the lodging soon. The discount will only last for 30 days.

Also, please post what kind of lodging you got. At the event, I'm going to keep a list of where everyone is staying.. Last year, I had no clue where everyone were.

Come on Financial refund! Get here dammit!!!

Phil, did you get to see a bunch of rooms last year first hand? I know me and little Paul are sharing one, but if its worth it we will get a bigger place!

DJ,

I would recommend getting a cabin and sharing it. It will be cheaper that way.

Only bad thing about cabins are that you are away from others. This year, we need to find out where everyone is staying. When you check in, I'll have a map of Fontana at the checkin and please put your location.

Any news on where in Fontana Village everyone is staying? I would like a cabin, but I'm not sure I want to be isolated away from everyone else there!

Cool, I just booked a Laurel Cottage. It was $83, not $71... but a few extra bucks doesn't bother me.

Booked a magnolia cabin. I asked to be close to the rest of the group so hopefully I will not be too far out.

im 16, so most likely they will not let me rent a room..

and my friend is going to come with me and ride along..

so if someone wants to let us use your couch or floor or somethign, im sure it will be much more plesant then sleeping in my car for 2 nights, and im sure we could work something out.

Yeah well thats the plan at this point but Ive got a month to do the complete R&R. So we will see how that goes but hopefully smoothly as im not doing a whole lot of changes at this point. Just the engine, intercoolerl, radiator and some other odds and ends. Im gonna hold off on some of the other stuff untill after like the 99 front bumper, side skirts, dual oil coolers and other misc things planed.

l8r & see yah there.

I just want to be sure because I've heard conflicting information... Are the rates per day? or per weekend? I am assuming per day, but I have heard both. Phil?

Why is our group no longer listed on the upcoming events page on their site? It was about a month ago.

They shouldn't be booked up. I'll give them a ring.

I just got off the phone with Fontana Village.

They have plenty of rooms and cabins.

If you are having issues, please let me know what they are. They are still honoring the special rate. YOU HAVE TO MENTION you are part of MAZDA ROTARIES!!!
