lets start one coming from florida ive already got 3 guys from tamparacing.com with rx7s coming with me. maybe we can meet up with some miami guys half way.

 

If i still have the car i'd be intrested- but i'd be slowing you guys down as I plan trailering the car up there.

Can the Miami group meet us near I-4 and I-75, the Jacksonville clan at I-10 & I75 and the Atlanta group somewhere north of the city?

 

How about the Dennys near Valdosta Ga (exit 5) on Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 for breakfast/coffee.
All the FL cars could gather there & get some cheap GA gas.
The early drivers can eat & hang loose, and those running behind can catch up.
That puts us all to Atlanta by noon.

sorry guys im going to have to skip this year. car just is not reading for the drive. couldnt get everything done in time

 

It seems that the event doesnt begin until Saturday at 10:00 a.m. I am going to drive up Thursday to the cabin and hang w/ family until then. I really would like to go to the meet/greet Friday night. I just don't see myself driving an 1:15 each way for a couple hour kickoff party. I will most likely show up at the Fontana parking lot early Saturday and drive to the Dam w/ the group. Unless things change. If anyone is still thinking of going on Thursday from Fl. to get a good night's sleep I have extra beds at the cabin. Lake Toxaway is a beautiful place! G

 

Check the RX8 club forum on this. I think JWitzer is coming up Thursday night and staying at the cabins too. He is on the Tampa side of FL.

I'm trying to hook up a Friday caravan up I-75 with the Atlanta group at ~1:30PM near the Suwanee exit on I-85 N

 

What's the update on the caravan? I am considering joining the pack Friday. It just seems to be more fun to participate then to drive alone Thursday..

 

For those planning a Friday trip.
The Florida caravans will gather at Ga exit 5 Valdosta at Denny's 8:30-9:30.
Those running early can have breakfast & hang loose.
Those running late will have time to catch up.
Then we can all fill up on the cheap GA gas & meet the Atlanta caravan for lunch.

In case anyone cares, I'll be driving from Tampa to Atlanta on Thursday, then meeting up with herblenny and the Alabama and Tennessee groups in at 11:30 in Chattanooga for lunch at Golden Corall.

From there, we'll drive through the Dragon to be at Fontana Village by 5:00.

If you'd like to meet up on Friday morning in the Mariette area around 9:00 for the run up 75 to Chattanooga, please let me know.

Directions: Golden Corral is behind Hamilton Place. To get there, coming in on I-75, at exit 3A, take ramp (Right) onto SR-320 (E. Brainerd Rd). 1.1 miles down, turn Left (North) onto Gunbarrel Rd. Golden Corral is 0.7 miles down on the right side of the road.
