DGRR Hotel Discount: Microtel Inn Bryson City

Good news! The Microtel Inn in Bryson City has extended a discount to DGRR attendees. They are offering one night free if you stay three. So, Thursday is free and you pay only for Friday and Saturday. This amounts to a savings of $44 over the normal rate ($172 total versus $216).

To book under this rate simply call 828-488-7900 and use the block code "Deals Gap Rotary Rally"

The hotel is quite nice and about 10 or so miles from the event:

Microtel Inn and Suites by Wyndham Bryson City | Bryson City, NC 28713 Hotel

I'm staying there this year and hope to see you also

I stayed there last year and it was a very nice place with a great free breakfast lounge.

To those considering reservations, they still have a few rooms with double queens left but not many.

Wanted to give this a bump for those of you that have not booked yet for Deals Gap. It's the best event on the east coast and should not be missed. The Microtel is very close by and we are getting a great deal so call them now

Hey david, i just called to book a room and the lady said the 15 rooms you "blocked" off for the event were already booked. Is there a way you can call back to see if you can open up more rooms for the event? the lady said the best time to reach the manager would be tomorrow from 9am-3pm.

Thanks doll<3

I've got a message into the manager about extending the block to at least another 5 rooms. Will keep you posted.

i'm surprised they only offered a limited number of rooms... they're NEVER busy during DGRR.... You'd think they'd want to fill the place up

They tell me they are pretty full but that could be marketing. Still waiting on a call back from the manager. Benny's offer of a romantic moonlit walk has me motivated

Last year the microtel was pretty full during DGRR. I wouldn't be surprised if they are filling up.

I'll be arriving very late on Friday.

I have an appointment Friday morning that has been scheduled for a year that I can't miss. As soon as that wraps up I'll be starting the 11-12 hour drive. If anyone wants to be my hero and have a cold beer waiting for me...

Probably a bluff

In any event, they just added on 10 extra rooms at the DGRR rate so call and you should be good to go. Gonna be a good time at the Microtel with that large of a group.

They have a restaurant on site, but I don't think it's been open the last couple years during the event. The Hotel though is literally on the edge of Bryson City. You could just about walk to Hardees or the liquor store... lol

Going to stock up on a few things from the local grocery store but mostly eat out. We had a good time last year at the restaurant just past the resort that caters to the white water rafting gang. It's about 5 minutes past the Nantahala resort and they are right on the water. Very casual and inexpensive. Good breakfast and lunch.

Other than that, there are lot's of options close to the hotel, right across the highway and into town. Probably will check out those as well. Finally, we've eaten in the past at the Nantahala Resort restaurant and have like the food as well but it was more pricey. Heard they were having trouble getting the liquor license back renewed so hopefully that is now resolved
