Look up hotels in the Byson City area, as that's pretty close to the lodge. Never stayed there, but I hear a lot of folks have stayed at the Microtel in Bryson and say it's decent.

Its been several years but, I think I got the small 1 bed room Cabin there for about the same or a little less than my room at the lodge. It was very nice with a hot tube on the back deck. The bad was that the road to get there is half dirt and got pretty muddy. Also, I just like being at the lodge.... The hub of the event you know

Is there an itinerary of events? It doesn't look like the web page has been updated? I missed registration unfortunately but I'm booked up the street from Nantahala Village. Won't get there till Friday AM.

 

Itinerary will be finalized about 2 weeks before the event. I think Phil is still planning some aspects of it.

All you guys talking about Dale not in an FD like it's crazy. The first (and maybe only?) time I met Dale, he was solidly an FC guy. Yes, this was a long time ago!

 

Yeah, I knew Dale as an FC guy from way back in the TeamFC3S list server days, but I didn't meet him in person until DGRR 2010 and by then he was into FD's. So I'm ancient too!

 

Even people my own age look at me like I'm speaking a foreign language when I talk about email list servers. I joined the Team FC3S one back in 1999 at age 17.

 

2010 was my first yr at DGRR, so i too only know him as an FD guy.

 

Heck yea it sounded good, even the guy working for me (who is a racing/car guy) said it sounded nice.
