I've been waiting for this for quite a while as well. But I guess it's better then getting a shifter that isn't solid.

Aren't the rx8 ***** the same thread as s5 *****?

If so, I'd say they would fit right on.

they are direct fit to s5 shifters. You can usually get one through ebay.

For waiting for so long, we should get a one time deal discount.

Just because there was a problem with a shifter for a different car, doesn't mean you have to put all of them on hold.

Most companys that have a problem with a shifter for a car doesn't put the entire product down.

If say, B&M had a problem with a shifter for a civic, they wouldn't stop production of all shifters.

If the FC shifter hasn't run into any problems thus far, its more than likely not going to.

Just my 2 cents

That's very bad logic, the flaw in the civic shifter may also reside in the shifter of another car if the same machine is used to make the shifter. For all they know it wasn't an issue with the design but with the machine that makes them.

one of the draw backs of FWD is that the shift linkage is more complicated and they have to be trimmed down in some places so that the whole shift isn't too heavy for the tranny. i know a lot of people that have broken even expensive shift forks and shifters. all that i can say is that they are more likely to break than ours that have a much shorter linkage.

It was also stated by the manufacturer that the problem was not with the FC shifter. So technically they are halting the production of all shifters due to the result of a failed design for a completely different product.

Therefore, I still go by my 2 cents.

I'm anxious for this, although like I said before, a bit of an update would be nice.

I've got a cheapo ebay shifter, and it works good, but it sits high and I had to mod my stock **** to fit, and it still sits a bit too high, you can see about a half inch of the shifter between the **** and boot.

It gets the job done, but it sits higher than the stocker.
