Carfax has been taking members and forums to court for running or allowing to be run carfax reports for people that don't have a carfax account.
So to protect members, we made it invisible until they change.

yes, yes I am, because free means I can put that $25 towards gas in the new car
and how can it be illegal? people are paying for the service, they are entitled to use that service how they want to

So it is my understanding that several members that asked for free carfaxs got bills on one forum (Maxima or something Nissan) and many forums got cease and desist letters in allowing carfaxs.
So we took a proactive approach and hid the section until it blows over and close down threads asking for them so that our members don't get billed by Carfax.
