Wow, I'm sorry but this only further proves your ignorance. Beating a Porsche, Lamborghini, or Viper in a street race doesn't mean ****. NOT ONLY are these cars not built for racing on highways and stoplights when your FD is, but knowing the simple fact that the owner might not be an experienced enough driver to make the best use of his car in the race takes away any sense of reward or accomplishment.

In any form of motorsport if one car (or driver) is heavily prepped or modified for that type of racing, it can and will outperform more expensive cars that still retain their streetability (factory exhaust, gas mileage, comfort). Does that really give you that much pleasure? The Viper, Porsche or Lambo is still a far better car in every aspect. This would be like someone putting a set of slicks and a rollcage into their FD, going out on an HPDE weekend and posting 100 threads about every single Porsche, Lotus, or Supra they passed.

I'm not gonna sit here and argue about street racing and how its horrible, because its not. I've had some encounters with direct competitors (Miata, 240, Supra) that would sound great in as a "kill story" but I never posted them due to the reasons I mentioned earlier. The problem is simple, the annoyance caused by the dumb kill ("this fagget integra", "should I race him") threads outweigh the pleasure I get out of reading the good kills with competitive cars. Then again though, I'm not into the sport. I'm just explaining why I'm relieved that the kills section has been...well, removed.

Lol, beating a Lamborghini doesn't hold any sense of reward or accomplishment? Right.

well id like to say good job on killing the kills section, no more amusing posts to read and no more berating of the idiots who act irresponsibly on the streets. i understand its you all's site but cmon this is an automotive forum.

all over the place you have guys posting about what is going under their hoods and only a total idiot would believe they would NEVER EVER do such a thing as speeding on the highway with that stuff.

even if you do not condone streetracing its still going to happen, sure we wont hear about it anymore in this forum but its like turning a blindeye as to what is out there. oh well whatever, censorship scores another point.
in an automotive forum no less, where people beef up a car to...*gasp!* RACE.

This is an automotive forum. You're lucky it's not all tech.

all i have to say is that this forum is going to ****.

last week i got banned because a moderator (who i wont say his name because i dont want to get banned again) was arguing with somebody on here about v8 swaps in a rx7. he said it was dumb adn pointless, i agree with him. i rather keep rotarty but still everybody is entitled to their own opinion. and for me saying tha ti got banned.

and now when i come back i check the kill section to see if anything exciting has gone on, or if any other races have been posted and now its a track section???!?!

the only reason i liked the kills section was because of illegal street racing and ****.

but yeh i think everybody on this forum needs to take a poll and we will see who goes with what.

If you want to leave because there is no kills section, please do. You won't be missed.

As for your banning, there are two sides to every story. Post the thread.

actually as I recall, you got banned for attacking a moderator and flaming. Both of which are issues as per the TOS and FAQ of this board. I can go look up the specific thread and your comments in it, if your would like.

Sorry, this is not a democracy. What would make anyone think it is???

Actually there have been countless threads on underage drinking and pedophilia that have been closed or deleted from your view and general member participation. You just can't see them.

And I personally have posted and ranted countless times (before and after becoming a mod) against the people that I see that are idiots that modify their emissions equipment just for a few more HP, when a better way is to modify the car and engine and still meet emissions testing. My old vert that I sold, had a 173 RWHP (or around 210-215 FWHP) non turbo motor in it, as well as a couple of Turbo motors in a couple of points in its life, but it met CA emissions testing until I sold it with a stock motor. So just because I think there are idiots that are too lame to modify a car and still keep the air clean doesn't mean that all thread about car modifications should be removed.

See you see this as a censoring... while the mod staff (and apparently quite a few members here) see this as an improvement, and socially responsible not to condone illegal street racing.

You mean like the "She's only "17" pic" thread that went to 21 pages? In this thread you made an appearance, not to berate the others for posts regarding pedophilia and rape, but because the OP used profanity. Later you even defend it saying that different cultures have differing values.

No, you see it as stupid and try to use "illegal" and "socially responsible" as excuses to justify your actions. So the other threads about illegal and downright moronic activity will be mildly dealt with, and in some cases encouraged, but street racing is suddenly too terrible a thing to tolerate on this board? And nobody has answered my question about links to street racing in the audio/video section yet. Are those going to be prohibited as well?

SoOO. I was looking for the kills section and was like WTF its gone?!?!? So lame. In all honesty, why try and censer the internet? Its like having a Party and then telling everyone "Dont hook up with anyone at my house" Its just stupid.

Now there are some stupid teenagers who speed for no reason in the middle of traffic during rush hour, But there are also just about the same # of older drivers who do the same. Same goes for street racing. Some just go about doing things the dumb way and some take care.

Yes everyone would love to be able to track their car ever other weekend. But in reality not everyone can. Reasons may include, track being too far away, no truck, no trailer, or not enough gas money(lol)

But street racing isnt new. And no one ever said you supported street racing by having a kills section. All you have to do is say under the title(street racing isnt supported by Rx7club.com) or something like that. I have been to forums where ppl have posted about drug deals, parties, street racing, street drifting, ect. all while knowing local police troll the forums. Does it mean that they site supports what they do? No. Its just a place to allow people to communicate.

What if major cell phone company said were gonna listen in on all calls and not allow anyone who used our service cant talk about drugs, sex, speeding/racing, or anything Illegal because we dont support it. Wtf would people do? Laugh and keep on talking about whatever or just switch companies.

So trying to censer real life is dumb. Just let people talk about what ever(with in reason). Its a Forum.

wrong and wrong.
You can upgrade an FD to surpass the performance, streetability, AND gas milage of that of the mentioned 'super cars'. Clearly you do not own an FD. the thing is is that an FD of that magnitude costs >$35-50,000 to build and a lot of know-how. Merlin is correct in that he should be happy/proud that his very low-cost (in comparison) 1.3 ltr , jap car bests an over priced super car in basically every way.

besides, why would you invest another $40-100,000 to be able to race legally (costs of a truck/trailer/garage space/car mods like fuel cell, cage etc) when, if you do it in a responsible way you can achieve essentially the same thing?? Ohh right, because its against the law. You should take a political science course or political anthropology, then you will understand that laws are bull in our society anyways.

Maybe he doesn't have any more than BS reasons for these changes and would rather not disclose it publicly.

Or leave it and put up a disclaimer saying that the RX7Club does not condone street racing, if that's the real reason for it being changed.

I take it this was discussed at the moderator meeting we were promised to get a summary of, over a month ago. No point in even arguing about what changes around here. Unless of course you like smoke blown up your ***.

Let me guess. IB somehow in there corporate brighness saw the kills section as a liability to the company.
