Lightbulb I want to know who is leaving me feedback

I want to know the username of the person who is leaving me the feedback (reputation points) I'm getting, not for purposes of revenge feedback (well maybe ), although I understand that might be a problem that would result.

I just checked out my user control panel and I've gotten some neutral and negative points on some really random posts. I want to know who it's coming from, because if it's just some n00b or dumbass I've had a difference of opinion with, or a guru or mod that thinks I'm out of line, it makes a difference how I weight the approval or disapproval I've received. Plus it's just plain curiousity.

What do you guys think?

I agree let people man up to what they wanna say. Even though its still not maning up cuz they are still hiding behind a keboard most of the time 100s or thousands of miles away. Look at my rep points I know I get slammed becasue I do tell people what I think. Then they run to the rep points. People like Jimlab and so on. So when ever I see I have gotten bad rep points I just return the favor. Its not like they really matter anyway I have still been able to sell stuff and work with people on here. Somdays I wish this forum was like the Marines where we could just settle our differences "behind the wood shed" LOL. Anyway ya let people be identified. That way if they wanna leave bad rep they can deal with whatever reprecussions come with it. It would cut down on a lot if this I dont like that you said this or that. Who cares 90% of what is written on here is just opinion any and means nothing.

I don't think it is worth wasting your time reviewing mine or others reputation points. I'm just plain and simply curious who is going out of there way to let me know what they think about my opinion. Plus, like I said, who it comes from makes a difference on how I weight the opinion.

I don't really see any harm in knowing the username of who is leaving the feedback.

Those already occur frequently anyways.

And as I stated in my first post this wasn't for purposes of revenge feedback. There are always going to be those who act immaturely and misuse forum resources/features, but we shouldn't let these people become obstacles to reform.

What I do find absurd about the current system is some of the comments users are allowed to leave and there is no way of knowing who left such a vulgar/rude statement other then to PM a mod to intervene in such a petty squable. But this is off the topic of the original suggestion. I'm not asking for policing of who says what, or who is allowed to comment on who's posts.

Maybe I should just post my feedbacks thus far and see who wants to take responsibility for what comments?

That one obviously came from Fumanchu (correct me if I'm wrong ).

I want to know all of them, (and I think this should be a change made to the reputation points system, which is why I bothered starting a thread on the subject) if you'd be so kind. Obviously I'm not dismissing your thoughts on the idea, Merciless, but just trying to effectively argue my point.

i understand ur suggestion, but i think we would rather deal with it under the carpet, if you really need to know who left the reputation comment, and it the commect deemed to be out of line, we WILL let u know who left it, and that user will get a warning....becasue they is a violation regardless if its public viewable or not...

Yea, I believe it was from the Rotoboy661 thread where you, I and several others pointed out he was having an identity crisis . It may, or may not have been from you, but the catchy rhyme and attitude seemed right up your rather comical alley.

Was the one left today the "youre beatifuk," or "Usually I give negative feedback when I see people whine about them, but I gave it to that dumbass "usmcjsy" this time." Both are new comments I recieved for this thread. My guess would be the latter.

Fair enough Merciless, thanks for listening to my suggestion.

Was that the warning?

I can't understand what was so bad when I see flame wars that escalate worse than anything I say everyday on this forum. Oh well.

Fair enough. I'll tone down the vulgarity but up the frequency.

Happy reputation giving!

Maybe we should do like some of the other sites and jsut ban flame wars. Even though I myself have reiceved the Medal of Honor is such battles. I like to play devils advocate. However though there is flame wars on here daily. People bashing each other and each others cars. I usually come here if I am having a problem or want to know how to do somthing. I guess I feel the majority of the flames come from people attacking the RX7 or the Rotary. This is a RX7 forum the true engine of the RX7 is the rotary. So I believe those who dislike the RX7, rotary or both need to keep their comments to themsleves. This would solve 90% of the flame wars. I visit DSM forums and some Mustang forums and dont see 1/2 the flamage as this place. Thats because people are not swappiong V8s into DSMs. Those DSM guys like their 4 bangers like we like the rotary. The rotor heads are the majority here and should rule. There is other websites for the V8 swap crowd. I am just as guilty for starting and participating in the flame wars as anybody. I have really been trying not to lately but somtimes I just cant bite my tongue. I like the RX7 and the rotary and my bad rep points have come from defending both.

No, you get slammed because you're a barely-literate fool who has no business posting anything even remotely technical.

Ever stop to think that if you kept your comments to yourself that there would be far less flaming required?

If thats not the pot calling the Kettle Black. Its because of JimLamb I dont shop the RX7store anymore. I wont support a store that sells rotary bashers products. Also when you call everyone stupid it really has no effect. Just ask Flamin-roids and others you have been in arguments with. As far as your pushrods if they are so great why are most manufacturers starting to ditch em..? Also Jimlamb if you read my posts on this thread I admited I was guilty for the flame wars to. However I do not believe I or anybody else should be discouraged from rallying around the RX7 or the Rotary in the Kill Sections or anywhere else in a RX7 forum.

My, aren't we dramatic. That's the third time you've posted that, as if taking your lucrative shift **** purchase somewhere else actually changed anything. The funniest part is that I don't sell any products through the RX-7 Store (Jason has resold bushings he bought from me, and that's it). Even if I did, you couldn't use any of them because I don't make parts for the FC. On the other hand, I have sold my parts through this forum, so perhaps you should consider boycotting the forum instead and find somewhere else to spend your spare time.

Also when you call everyone stupid it really has no effect.
You're right, I don't expect truly stupid individuals to suddenly realize that they are being stupid and change their behavior simply because they were confronted with unquestionable proof. I do, however, like to give others the chance to have a good laugh at their expense.

It's the prerogative, nay, the duty of the stupid to remain stupid in the face of adversity. Carry on the good fight!

As far as your pushrods if they are so great why are most manufacturers starting to ditch em..?
Do you have any idea how long OHC engines have been around? Silly question. You and flamin-roids seem to think that it's a recent breakthrough and therefore "better" technology.

"Snobs may dismiss pushrods as "dinosaur-era", but when GM is building small-blocks that make more power, are more fuel efficient, and are lighter, smaller and cheaper than equivalent overhead-cam V8 engines, who's really the fool?" -HotRod Magazine

Also Jimlamb if you read my posts on this thread I admited I was guilty for the flame wars to. However I do not believe I or anybody else should be discouraged from rallying around the RX7 or the Rotary in the Kill Sections or anywhere else in a RX7 forum.
Fine, just don't expect to be allowed to spew absolute horseshit as proof of rotary superiority without someone calling you on it. You know, there's always the distinct possibility that the people "ripping" on the rotary are actually just telling the truth and that you just don't know enough about your favorite engine to realize that's what you're reading...

Hey lamb what would you know about fighting..? Besides it was not shift ***** I was buying. If you are fimiliar with the NRA at all you will know I was simply following their strategy against Smith and Wesson. Now Smith and Wesson is obviously pro gun but they signed on with the Clinton administration in anit-gun legislation that protected them from lawsuits. However the rest of the gun industry did not do this and the NRA urged its members to boycott smith and wesson. Also with that attitude of he was just gonna buy this and that and that customer does not matter, is what put GM in the situation it is today. That situation would be huge sales losses and soon to fall tio the 2nd largest manufacturer and Toyota the largest. Quit being such a woman JimLamb.

My mistake. It was probably a classy MOMO steering wheel or a nice set of fuzzy dice.

Quit being such a woman JimLamb.
If I'm such a woman, why are you the one doing all the crying? For someone who claims not to care about getting a negative reputation, you sure do a hell of a lot of whining about it.

Do you want to know why you're in the red? The content and manner in which you post makes you look stupid and people are just rewarding you for it. You might want to do something about that.

Believe me lab there is nothing more I would like to do then to take you behind the woodshed. However your to far away and your real tough behind that keyboard you are good "keyboard ninja" Your so smart though you prolly learned how to fight from reading a book, and would be far more advanced then anything I could have possibly learned from the Marines.
I am surprised wingsfan could quit stroking you long enough to even type anything in these forums. Well I am done posting on these subjects for now. By the way wingsfan Hinsons V8 has way more non stock parts in his RX7 then shep has in his DSM. Everypart that is GM is non stock moron. He is also more non stock than Roatary Performace but still failed to beat their best time. Sorry to hear about that LS1 seizure that put him in the wall.
I agree with Hondahater we all have our own opinions on what engines are best for what car and I am gonna leave it at that.
