The old board had a way to set the default of the "include your signature". Am I blind or is there no way to default it to off? I don't want my sig in every post, just the ones I specifically set. I hate having to unset it every time I post.

+1, but I block viwing sigs, so it's not such a big deal to me. I just always feel like I'm annoying people when I forget to uncheck the "show my sig" box.

Then again, usually when I post I'm annoying someone.

I want a sig, just not on EVERY post. All I want is the default to be to NOT show your sig.

 

I think a better option would be to be able to choose your default since I know a number of people (including myself) are happy about the default being where it is now. Although I guess that's what you implied originally. Just want the mods to focus on the 'choose your own default' part as opposed to just setting it to off.

 

Actually the BEST thing would be what some other forums I have been on have; you post your sig the first post in each thread but subsequent posts you do not have the OPTION to do so. So it gets rid of those guys that show their massive sig each time they post (every other one on the page) but it still automatically shows up the first time you post.

Can we PLEASE get this sorted out! The The 2nd Gen section is littered with inconsiderate idiots who not only have oversized sigs that break the rules but seem to think it's okay to post it over and over again.

 

I made a really simple greasemonkey script to turn it off since no one seems to respond to any board issues. (You are using Firefox, right? )

Get greasemonkey here if you dont have it:

Once installed (make sure you restart firefox), click here

Now the "Include your signature" checkbox will uncheck itself.

But note that if you manually check the checkbox, and you "preview post" it will get unchecked again.
