EXACTLY.

Now what exactly is the point of having a long *** list of acronyms in the FAQ/ Archives if you can't search any of them? ? ?

I'm a noob and I don't wanna get flamed, but when I try to search for things like FC, S5, N/A, it seems like the search engine is broken.

What is going on?

Lets get a response to this or its going to keep getting bumped. This is really annoying. Plus gives newbs the excuse to start dumb posts.

No... people don't like spam. Spam it again and it will be a ban a lot longer than a day.

"spam"

See, now thats a 4-letter word, so although most people don't like it, at least they could effectively search for it.

"ban"

See, now that's only three letters, so if someone wanted to do some research on that, ............

.....but I'm serious.

In the meantime if you want to improve the incoming threads. Teach members and educate yourself on how to title a thread properly.

Title the thread on what you are looking for instead of Newb needs help, Quick question, Turbo?, No power, etc.....

If you title threads better you will notice at the bottom of the page after you start your thread or are viewing another thread there will be 5 additional related threads on the topic.

I'm not saying that this is a cure all but the computer at this time recognizes key words and attempts to group those words with related threads.

How about never.

Maybe in the next upgrade, but frankly I don't see the point.

And no matter, what it is not gonna happen in the very near future. So you can keep bumping, but you'll just look like a spoiled child that wants his or her way.

Well, I'm sure you wouldn't see the value of such a thing because (no sarcasm) you already know everything.

We'll just keep bumping it, and keep our fingers crossed for the next upgrade.

Bump, how can you not see the point in something that has been threaded multiple times already since the upgrade. Also why can it not happen. It seemed like in the earlier thread it was a matter of entering individual 3 or 2 digit search words. A lot of 2 and 3 letter words and acronyms are used in searches that will not come up any other way. I guess the mods need to be nice to newbs when they post threads that have been covered and can't be found in searches based off this issue.

What kind of crap response is that?

It's obvious that members want to be able to search for 3 letter words. There is ALOT of information availble on the forum, but it's pointless if you can't find it.

Exactly!

I really can't understand how the mods don't see the value of having a properly working search engine? Especially since it just makes their jobs harder because people will keep creating the same threads over and over again asking questions that could easily be answered if only the search engine wasn't carp!

I just tried to search for BNR result = 0 finds.

Then tried to search for BNR Turbo result = looooong wait and every thread that contains "turbo" returned. Search is almost useless if three letter words are ignored.

Searching for quoted "BNR Turbo" is quicker and brings results. But I am sure it is missing threads/posts where just the acronym BNR is used.
