Better new user verification to prevent spamming
We have been inundated with spambots on the forum recently, and I thought that some measures should be taken to reduce or prevent spambots from registering on the forum. Other boards that I have registered with use a randomly scrambled picture of letters or numbers to verify that the person registering is real and not a bot. Evidently they work really well because bots can't discern the numbers in the picture. If you could upgrade/add that feature to the board, it would hopefully eliminate all this bs spamming that's gone on recently.

The only issue is that latter/number CAPTCHAs don't really work anymore. Most of the spambot software capable of registering and posting on forums can decode them.

Only marginally. I enabled CAPTCHAs on my own forum and it had an effect for about a week. Then the spambots just started registering again once they figured out I was using CAPTCHAs...

We have a relatively low amount of fraudulent accounts created compared to the amount of new accounts created. This is something that would be implemented as part of a forum upgrade and won't be immediately addressed.
Our best defense against spammers will always be our users. Please take the time to report the post using the https://www.rx7club.com/images/buttons/report.gif button.
We will however add this to the to-do list.
