Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
In most cases it is closer to 8 to 12 hours not 24...
well unless you didn't follow the forum rules before posting... then it could be 24 or even 48...

KaiFD3S,
Looks like your thread was deleted because it was a feeler thread and the rules state that an item is for sale or is not. I'm sure that the mod sent you a pm about this.
The reason that the threads are getting bogged down is because members are not adhering to the guidelines that are listed in the rules.
Help us out guys. There is a sticky that has been at the top of every Forum on this site for 4 months and is in bold print as seen here.
https://www.rx7club.com/announcement.php?f=101&a=167
Below is just a portion of the thread.
Please make sure that you have reread the above rules regarding the usage of the classified forums before you submit your thread for review.
Failure to comply 100% with the stated rules will result in a delay of your thread being posted.
Some main key points but not limited to are.
1. All items must include their asking price.
2. Part out threads have very specific guidelines
3. No off site selling links or referencing except to host pictures if needed. All
main information is to be posted in the thread on this site.
4. Title threads as; FS (for sale). WTB (want to buy). WTT (want to trade)
5. Use appropriate State icon for location.
6. You are responsible to make sure that your thread is in compliance with all of the listed rules before submitting for approval .
There are a lot of classified threads that are submitted on a daily basis and a limited amount of "Volunteer" moderators to perform this task. This system was put in place for the benefit of the members to help make the buying experience a more pleasant one.
Daily we have to send pm's to members for these simple requests on what all should know how to do with all the reference stickies posted everywhere.
We cannot keep sending pm's on a daily basis and still moderate these threads on a timely basis. It is up to you to help us and make sure that your threads are done correctly "Before" you submit them for approval.
What we are going to have to do is moderate all the threads that are done in accordance with the rules first and those who have not will be 2nd on the list.
So the key is if you want threads to be moderated faster than please do your part.
Thank you,
Moderator team.

We try to get through the posts as fast as we can. The problem is that about 90% of the posts do not fully comply with the rules. That means that it takes a bunch of our time to correct the post (add location and such, which can be difficult since a lot of people list their location as "here" or something very general). Then there is the time required to delete, PM the person about not following the rules, and then repeat when they post again. Not to mention that some people do not know about the moderating period, so they will post multiple threads and we have to sort which ones are duplicates and delete the extras. Now each one doesn't take that much time, but when you multiply by the 100 or so posts per day, it can mean several hours of our time per day these correcting problems.
Basically, if everyone followed the rules, the wait would be very short. Since they don't, it backs up the whole system.
Tip 1: If you want a fast turnaround, I would recommend posting during the week. The mods are people like everyone else and will often be busy or out of town on the weekend. This usually means a longer wait between posting and the approval during the weekend.
Tip 2: Read the rules and make sure that your post meets all of the requirements. Personally, I try to approve the posts that meet the requirements 1st (starting with the oldest)..and then I work on the ones that have problems after those are done. The ones that meet the requirements are easiest for me to get through and I figure that those people who spent the time to read the rules should get priority on getting their threads approved.
Thanks.

It takes a few steps to change the thread title to show the State Icon, and then we add into the thread or "edit box" to tell the member to use the state icon next time they post a thread. And if you get 10,20, sometimes even 30 of them, it eats up alot of time.

Kai: I meant to send you a pm about it. I had 77 threads this morning to approve and by the time I got to the point to pm you, you had posted on this thread and I explained the reason.

You hit the nail directly on Kai. It's not really abusing the forum, it's just members not following very very simple rules, and doing it by the thousands, it got to be too much of a duty to scan through new threads to make sure everything is fine. Now we just pre-approve them, and let them "run free". At least that's how I do it. If I know it's a thread that is going to cause some trouble because of prices, I keep an eye on it.
Trust me, this system is 100x better, it just takes a little bit more time.
