Talking Your modifications/repairs over the winter?

So as the title says, what did you guys do to your cars over the winter? So far I haven't touched it because it's been freakin cold but starting this week I think I'm going to do the brakes, bushings, install new hood, fix alarm and maybe stereo if I can make it that far lol I hope I get it done in a month - should be no problem :P

Can't wait to see your car with the RE-A hood. You will be a good test to see if the vented hood actually does anything without making a lot of ducting mods.

I bought my GSL SE in November and it was sitting in storage up until last week, when I finally brought it home to being working on it. Right now, I have the upper intake manifold off and the injectors are off getting cleaned. Once I get them back, I plan on reinstalling the UIM, then test fitting the RB header I just picked up to figure out where I need to put the O2 sensor bung. Then, I plan on stripping the exterior of all trim pieces, wiper blades, badging, etc, so that the car can be sent out to the paint shop. Then when I get it back, I'll hopefully have the 323GTX wheels sandblasted and painted, and the Falken Azenis RT615 tires mounted. After that, I have to install a set of 2 front KYB inserts that I picked up, as well as install the full Energy Suspension bushing kit that I ordered (I'm afraid). After that stuff is done, I'll insure the car and start driving it, and hopefully make it out to some lapping days.

I did a compression test on the engine, and both rotors held at least 110psi. I held the pressure release on the test gauge and saw that there were three equal pulses, so I know all apex seals are good. For this year, I think I'll just do minor normally aspirated mods, like install the GReddy EManage I have and tune the car using my wideband system, hopefully I'll get a few extra HP and gain some MPGs. I'd also like to install an MSD 6A on both the trailing and leading igntions, but I won't do that unless I get a really good deal on the igntion units.

That's all.

full TII drivetrain into my na, lightweight flywheel, rb sways, S5 intake manifolds and get the 6pi and VDI going. I have a 3 puck which is way overkill as i thought i was going turbo, I'm contemplating puttin the stock TII clutch that came off of a j-spec i have instead.

Oh and paint and most likely install my new interior within the next month or two (thanks charn)

I'm using the Zeitronix wideband... it's cheap, easy to install, works well and has awesome datalogging, but it doesn't have a programmable narrow band output like the Innovate WB which is something I could really use with the TEC 2 that's going into my turbocharged Fastiva.

I spent the better part of today stripping trim pieces off my GSL SE. I got all the windshield trim pieces but the ones on the side over the doors off without bending or warping them. The little plastic clips... that's another story. Does anyone know where to get those locally?

Yeah, I've followed a few threads on the hood - it should reduce temps a lot but I'm probably leaving the rainguards in there and they'll impede a bit but since I'm not running anything crazy it'll be fine plus I think it looks better since they're also carbon. With proper ducting, the N1 bumper with AD-9 hood would push all the air you need through the proper places. You can get air to pretty much everything, even the oil coolers and brakes...I think it's a great design for the engine too with a hole for the intercooler and the rad getting tons of air. And then after the air gets sucked in through the bumper it doesn't just soak in the engine bay, it actually follows the form of the engine bay and flows back out through the hood. Should be fun to test my theory anyway lol

Haha ok Will you definitely have first dibs although for my setup I may be keeping it for AUX inputs...we shall see. How are your cars doing?

List is long

-Install mazda motorsports oil baffle plate.
-Marren Fuel Pulsation Dampener.
-New gas filter
-Installed short shifter
-installed all new front to rear brake lines
-Removed and painted differential and subframe and upgraded swaybars.
-installed subframe adjustable link.
-Replaced all lateral links, ball joints, subframe links with new mazda motorsport parts. As well as new differential bushings and mounts.
-Complete Bushing replacement and all new mazda bolts for sway bars and links.
-installed innovative wideband.

May not seem like alot but removing and painting the subframe and replacing ever bushing was a ton of work. More so then install the haltech or turbo.

Car is going in to obrien motorsports for a rear roll bar and then to scarb mazda for a complete alignment.

its going to be a busy summer!

Tell you where to get the clips if you tell me how you got your window trim drip rail off?

Go to Standard Auto Glass. Precision Replacement Parts part # pck-462-84 About $12

That's for a 1984 -se. Also Victoria British has them.

My list for the spring:
Install direct fire with TT
get factory original rear spoiler from Alaska and install
replace oil pan gasket
replace upper door hinges
wheel alignment
change trans and rear end for synthetic
paint car
powdercoat all trim
install driving lights behind grill

Thanks! Is that the part number for the smaller clip that holds the trim pieces on the cowl and top of the windsheild, or is it for the clips that hold the A-pillar trim pieces on? Do you have both part numbers? I'm going to attempt to remove them tomorrow... wish me luck!

Replaced my engine with a j-spec, put on a full GPS body kit, and Lambo doors. I may also be adding vented front fenders. I hope to have it ready to paint within the next couple weeks.

This clip kit is supposed to cover every piece of trim on the car. Looking inside it, it has for sure the clips for the window trim as well as the different pieces for the side trim pieces....
