WTF Improper Exhaust?

So what gives - pulled over and fined $110 for improper exhaust - said it was too noisy (it is loud) and likely to fall off (no way - its custom fabricated but a hell of a lot more substantial than anything your get at CT/Midas etc) so am unsure exactly what law i have broken - any one else fallen foul of this?

Check your ticket it will give you the violation under the "highway traffic act". It will say HTA section bla bla bla. You can look it up on the computer to find out exactly what the man is trying to accuse you of!

Good LUck!

Fight it.

1. Send in the ticket saying you want to fight it
2. Write the crown and the offending police station asking for whatever evidence they have collected
3. delay your trial.
4. have a mechanic evaluate the exhaust and deem it fit
5. go to your trial, hope the cop doesn't show, plead your case if he does.

sounds about right.. SRT guys always have this problem since that system does not use a muffler. Delay the hearing as much as possible, and even if the cop shows up, the crown attorney should knock down the charges a bunch just to clear it from his caseload, rather than wasting time fighting the ticket altogether.

LOL DUDE. I just went to court for that 2days ago lol. I got 2 $110 tickets for too much noise and improper muffler. I use to have a single exhaust that I bought the car with so it was mad loud plus I have RB headers. I just bought 2 stock mufflers and had a Y-pipe custom fabed so i could keep the headers. When i went to court and showed them the receipt for the mufflers and went outside with the officer so he could see and hear the new system, they threw out my tickets.

LOL the officer was like "What's that sound? What's wrong with ur car? I don't know, it sounds like well not a chain saw but like a lawn mower".LOL

Were u pulled over in Aurora by a short guy with a army cut?

Thx all - It's good to be in such distinguished company - no not Aurora - downtown Toronto - and the funny thing was it decided to emit a pretty impressive backfire (still running thermal reactor and rats nest) when i shut it down - which took a bit of explaining....I have put quiter exhaust on (edelbrock) and am waiting for a court date....

Mission accomplished- you installed a quieter exhaust...good. If you've ever awoken to a loud exhaust at three in the morning, you know what I'm talking about. I hate to say it, but you admitted you had a loud exhaust, you got what you deserved.
