Working With A Automatic (RX7) .......

Hey everyone , I just needed to ask a few questions as im a little lost right now.

I have owned my 7 for a while now (its a 1986 Mazda Rx7 GXL). For the last little while I have tried to sell the car time and time again with a lot of low ballers (no one actually even having cash).

The car has been stored so it is in excellent condition body / mechanical and what not. I honest to god really dont need the car however after spending the day washing her / waxing etc etc. I really have to say it looks damn good for a 20 year old vehicle. I even had my cousin who has an RX8 compliment the vehicle.

Now .... What to do with her, the main reason I really dont have a thing for the vehicle is beacuse its automatic transmission. Lets be honest anything automatic is boring as hell

Should I just keep the car and work on the exterrior / interrior maybe throw a bit on a beautiful paint job / body kit (some rims) make her look excellent . Possibly throw a sound system in.

Or should I just not waste the money on the vehicle ?

Any suggestions would be helpful as to what to do with the vehicle ...

Thanks I appreciate it

I think the first mod on your list should be a manual swap.

Followed by Aluminum Flywheel with a good clutch and pressure plate.

That will really bring the car to life.

Swap in the manual, right now I bet 4 clicks in the f/s section could net you everything for under 300 bucks, and it should only take 10 solid hours to do, start to finish, with all the fab work.

Yeah the fab work sucks....I'm doing this swap right now. I cant believe they used a different floorpan for the auto cars. Now I have to weld up a new tranny mount....grrrrrr.

Swap it! I had an 85 gsl with auto and it sucked. Switching to a 5spd made it a totally different car.
