ON Who wants to join me autocross?

Ladies (not likely) and Gentlemen,

Im planning to go autocrossing again June 27th, a Sunday. If anybody is free to join and want to test their reaction and car handling skills post here.

The Series is called PITL "Push it to the Limit", a CASC-OR sanctioned autoslalom series. Very well organized and very mature and helpful group of people who are very welcoming to new autocrossers, all makes and models are welcome.

For those that have never autocrossed before, basically you drive a course outlined by pylons. The course never stays that same or is pre-posted before each event.

You are given the chance to walk the course as many times are you like before the first car runs the course. Usually registration starts at 0730-0900am with the first run group lined up at 0930 so arrive early so you have a chance to walk the course multiple times.

Penalties: a cone knocked over is a 2 sec penalty added to your time. If you go offcourse, its a DNF (did not finish) and no time is awarded. Further information is given out during the first drivers meeting.

Duties: When your run-group is not running, you are assigned marshalling duties at pre-determined points in the course. Your responsibility is to make sure that any knocked over cones are replaced and communicate the penalty via hand radio to the timing tent. This also provides you with an great way to observe the different lines and approaches people take.

Just to clarify, im not advertising for PITL, I dont make money from this. I just wanted to extend a chance for people who are not yet comfortable with open lapping days/limited budget/car control to come out and enjoy themselves in a well controlled environment.

All the equipment you need are: your car, tire pressure gauge, helmet (if you dont have one, there are loaner helmets available).

Oh and please leave your ego at the door too.

for more information check out their site:

If you guys have any questions feel free to ask.

Cheers,
Ken

jim they are held all over the one i went to was at the powerade centre in bramladesh

Its kinda crappy that you only get 3-4 40 sec runs but its usually a good time watching the subaru's break rear half shafts

The course was so short i could stay in first the whole thing and maybe get into second for a second

for some reason a lot of old Z cars come out last year an L28 turbo came out, a stock one and a fully built rb26det

Hey Jim, the whole entire PITL series is the only one that is held at the same place..the rest you have to drive to different locations every event

It also depends on the layout of the course, I find that compared to the HADA, they have a nice technical layout, and obviously depending how fast you are...lol...u can make a 45sec course last a minute

I know that z with the rb26det, I ran with him during the forza event last year, a beast of a car, Cool guy too.

Do you have to pre-register or can you show up the day of the event at registration time?

Nova, you DO NOT need to pre-register for the event. You CAN show up and register the day of the event. Registration times are between 0730-0830
