When I'm 80
When I'm 80 I hope to still be driving my rx-7. I walked out of the LCBO yesterday here in sunny Richmond Hill and a near perfect, white 81 GSL pulls up. I've seen the car in the neighbourhood before but never met the driver. So I waited to introduce myself and out climbs an elderly man (I'd hazard a guess in his late 70's - early 80's.) walking with a cane. Now I'm in my 40's and I don't think I could climb out of the car as quickly has he did. In the passenger's seat sat his wife of about the same age presumably. After our brief conversation I walked away feeling confident that all the time and detail I'm putting into rebuilding my car now will pay off 40 years from now.
So there's your feel-good story of the week.

I'm 55 next month, and sometimes it's a killer getting in and out of my FD. But It's worth it and as a old fart myself I'll never give up my car to old age & senility. Great the old couple you meet just keep driving their old rotary and are loving it, see there's hope for all us old bastards.

The guy that originally owned my 7 was 60 when he let it go. He said over the years the car kept getting lower and lower. lol
He then told me he realized it was just him getting older and it was hard to get in and out of it.

I had an old couple in an SUV giving me thumbs up and asking how much oil my FB burned while sitting at a stoplight a couple years ago. Had no choice but to give them a pull to redline.
