Talking What Should I Do??????

Okay, here is the deal.

Just got my new car home with all the spares. FREEKIN A TON OF SPARES!!!!!!

I don't have room to keep all my RX7 stuff in my 2 car garage anymore and have room to prepare the new car. I have another one car garage that I plan on keeping the RX7 in with its 5 sets of wheels and tires, 4 transmissions, 3 posi rears, 3 hoods and more electronic bits and pieces than you could imagine. The car is great and I don't want to let it just waste away with everything else I have as support stuff for it.

The car is fast. It was easily capable of 1:38's before and now that we have the new ITB setup and mapping worked out, I expect that it will be a solid high 1:36 to low 1:37 second car and able to compete for wins in CASC GTB. It would make a ton of sense to sell the car, but I have over 10 years of track time with the car and in its latest level it is pretty trick with lots of really cool bits and pieces.

I have thought about converting it to an Endurance car and using it for the new CASC Endurance Championship, keeping it just the way it is and running it a couple of times a year in GTB or on lapping days. I don't really get into drifting or showing the car, so what should I do with it? Do I try to put together a program to help guys who want to move up from Solo to Regional racing? Offer it as a display car.......

It is too nice and fun to retire it into a glorified ornament, so give me ideas guys. Use your fevered brains to give me a spark that I can run with. All ideas will be considered. Just keep in mind that I really like the car and don't want any harm to come to my investment (yeah right, race cars are a good investment), LOL.

If you really actually wanted to, we could find a spot for it in our showroom. Karl is bringing his FD race car to park in our showroom once the weather clears up.

Now all we need is an old IMSA FB.....

Joe if you could find me a 79-80 front bumper we would let you park the IMSA FB in your showroom! How can we show a car without a bumper! Eric, you should sell everything and buy a 1 year old Nextel Cup car! You can get graphics made and run it as a 2003 Jaguar XJR..............

ever thought about doing a rental type program with it, some people can't afford a well setup car and would like to try racing. Just a thought really

Thumbs up

Al, good idea but it may be 2 years away and only if I can get your man crush focus, Chocolate Myers, to crew. I don't think the TaTa XJR would be a good body....... Maybe my old 64 Ford Galaxie would be a great model, LOL. I want to do a WC race or 2 over the next couple of years with the new car.

Kent, I have thought of that, but most rental drivers pound the poop out of the car and don't care for the equipment. I would let Al drive the car as he is very calm. Joe (RPM) was good and fast when he took the car out at Mosport, but the car is a little too tricky now for a newbie to get in and go fast.

Maybe sorta an arrive and drive experience with the car de-tuned would be a good idea. Let me think about that.

Keep the ideas coming, I feel better already that my baby might have a future.

Eric

Still working on it Al, theres supposed to be a couple 1st gens in some London scrapyards. No idea if any of them are SA's or not, but its worth a look.

The rental idea is good, but OMG would you have to be careful who you rent to!
I'd almost be interested in renting to get some seat time at a lapping day or something....cause if I break it I could always fix it

if you are going to use it as some sort of rental car, find a way to make some money off of it, that way it can be a bit like an investment
