And also we, apparently, swapped in a motor from an 87 RX-2....

I'm not sure if i've missed a thread about these, but they look like an absolute steal.

Is there any additional information availible about these? Photos etc? Do we have an idea on the reserve?

Paul

well Im not sure about the reserve, but the two cars started life as beautiful GSL-Se's that the production company paid approx. 5,000 a piece for. And for the episode about $10,000 value (retail) in parts went into them. And I can tell you the yellow one has a blown oil cooler line

I imagine the reserve will be approx. what they paid for the cars, as they'd have to be half in the bag to expect to get what they put in.

I have some pics of the cars and Leigh probably does as well....they are supposed to kept under wraps - however all the cars are on auction now and the first episode has yet to even air so really I think the secrecy was thrown out the window.

If anyone local buys the yellow one, they should see me about the wiring. Some of it was done under the limitations of time, budget and the rules of the show so I had to make some sacrifices. If the car is to be driven regularly (on the track) then there are areas of the harness that need to be improved. Specifically the injector resistors, wires to the CAS and the lines to the starter and clutch switch.

You already severly whipped me on the track, isn't that enough? hehe

edit: and yes Leigh, your solvent/toothbrush induced euphoria should give you unlimited entitlement.....but DAYUM, I want that fire extingusher!! hehe

Wow, I see the yellow one is eqipped with the engine out of an elusive "1987 RX2 ".

Nice cars, but what kind of monkey did they hire to do the pics and descriptions?

no, I wanted to be, but can't afford more than a few $K right now. I didn't even bid once it went over my $2K limit.
if Joe had kept his big trap shut I might have been able to get it for a good price!! thanks joe

the truth is, the car I want to build will be much faster, and more unique than that 1st gen.... so I'll wait.
no room to store it right now anyway.
