Some video of the Firestone Firehawk Series the year before I raced in it. Whats really cool is that there were a ton of FC RX7's racing in the series. The next year, only 1.

Other cool thing is anyone who is only familiar with the track today, to see what it was like back then. Now imagine doing it at night, in the rain, with 1 driving light. Been there, got the t-shirt.

That was awesome, I used to follow the Firehawk series on TV regularly.

 

Superb! Thanks for this. I used to go to Mosport with my father back during this period and all the familiar liveries are great to see. Good possibility I was at this race. Unfortunately I only started saving the ticket stubs starting in the late 90's so can't be sure.

This was a great time in racing. A lot of great series were running during this era.

 

Whats really cool is that I have all the broadcasts from the next year when I was racing the factory Suzuki. I can now bore my son with those video's. My personal favourite TSN Broadcast was tye start of 1993 when we were running the factory Suzuki in the Michelin Enduroseries. The first race weekend at Mosport, we started the race in almost snow and with some mishaps and good driving, I got the car up to 5th place as we went to commercial and the quick race standings update showed my name. Super ego stroke, LOL.

I have all the races on tape and I need to convert them to dvd so that I can post them on Youtube for posterity. I also have a ton of in-car from that year with me battling the Richard Kamihara S5 FC in the Suzuki. Great racing but man it was a tough couple of years at the Pro level.
