UPDATE: PICS... Trying again

Well, my first post met with a server error, so I'm trying this again. As it turns out, I suck at photography:

The car is still drying, hence the spots.

Nice shot of the oil cooler. Fabbing up grill as we speak:

300ZX seats, custom painted interior panels, and 7 ball shift ****:

800 RPM idle, 4 other functioning gauges:

So, car is not for sale, but I have a rare disorder that prevents me from refusing offers over $15,000.

Very nice Jaime. Very nice. Can't wait to see it booting around. We should go for a drive out by were we went last time. But of instead of that dirt road head further north. There are some nice roads around there.

Nice job

I want in on the "all out amount of Rx7 building"

Eric may need some help in the coming weeks too. He's trying to pick up a new body into which he will swap his engine and anything else he needs. His car just has so much rust on it that it's not worth patching anymore. He's got BRAND NEW shocks/struts (tokico), springs (Eibach), ignition stuff, rebuilt carb, recently rebuilt engine (last year I think... no more than 2 years)... So we're lookin' to pick up an '84 or '85 with little/no rust and a blown engine to swap everything into.

So if you guys see any late model FBs worth looking into, let me know!

So where can I sign up to help Taylor (and whoever else needs it)? I'm free Sunday

Jon

Let's see here...

Thanks everyone, the more I drive the car, the happier I am with how it came out.

Raven: Hoping to get lots of miles on it this summer. Let me know when you are ready to go driving. A warning though: MYRXBAD had trouble driving away from me in the 8...

Wanklingbeer: Yup, we're up friday/saturday/sunday. PM me times/phone numbers/parts requests.

Buthairs: Hoping to find some 13/14" panasports, in 6.5 or 7" width. I'd really like to run 225-50's all around: more stick without the weight. We did the interior ourselves. Denim headliner and visors don't show up in the pictures. The door panels and bins started as red GSL panels, were taken apart, taped up, and painted with Krylon Fusion. It came out a little glossy, but I should be able to correct that wth a good wash/scrub.

MYRXBAD: Yeah, she be fast. I opened her up in 4th gear today and was knocking on 180 before I knew it.

oh damn that means you won't take these 14,999.99 burning a hole in my pocket

There will be multiple ottawa cars under the scalple this weekend.

I'm putting my engine back together and hopefully be able to get it into the car, maybe wire up haltech and get car started if God loves me .

John aka Evilrotor will be working on his car as well. Clutch and another couple things.

FC3S.USD will be working on his car for sure.. not sure at what point he's at since i haven't helped him in a while.

WankelingBeer will be doing his clutch sunday.. if i have everything done on my car or if there's nothing else i can do then i'll be there as well.

Frank

what an insult!! I hope that was a joke. if you knew the sweat, blood, tears, nachos and cheese that went into making this project a reality, you'd appreciate what a realistic price that is

I'm excited to ride (I mean drive) in it. unfortunately I was sick this week and couldn't go for a ride. soon, so soon.

p.s. I can hit 180 in 3rd gear (on the bike....)

Ah, its just a steaming pile of ........ Sorry, it is a very clean car and well worth $15,000 Cdn. Its amazing what happens when you put a bunch of power into a lighter chassis. First Gens are cool and just look right.

Wait till you guys see the next Feds project car. Whooooeee its really going to require the TLC from a talented pair

Some weekend soon I'm going to be stripping my engine bay down to clean and shine stuff for the meet. The car is running like a champ, with the exception of the lack of pep from the tired old engine. The stuff I want to do before the meet is mostly cosmetic at this point. Oh... and one buzzer that I just can't locate the source of. Any time I let the car sit for a few days, or any time it rains I get this constant annoying buzzer. I end up having to pull the fuse, which takes out my clock, dome light and radio too. So I'm going to inspect and re-tape my engine bay wiring harness if I get time.

I hope everybody can get their cars together before the meet. Nothing beats working on 7s as a group though

Come exam period, if anyone needs help let me know (yup.. I'm in school still.. exam period starts the 13th and ends the 20th, but I only have 2 exams so I'm off most of that time and available to help wrench some cars).

If Eric gets his body car it'll be CRAZY doing that swap. If anyone saw the "American HotRod" episode with the "ratrod buildoff", it will be like that 9-day miracle they pulled off in the last two episodes.

It'll be fun to see everybody at the meet again though.

Jon

that's the Carbonization Buzzer. to resolve this you just have to "decarbonize" the engine. do a search on the forum, there's a great article I read last year about that procedure.
