I am in Halifax, and was looking into shipping up old Nissan 240SX race car for somebody who wanted to buy it. I got 2 quotes from shipping car shipping companies (EastCan and SeaRail, going from memory, but don't quote me). Assuming the car was running and could be driven on and off the truck, both quotes came in around $950 to the GTA.
That being said, if you aren't in a huge hurry, you might be able to find somebody from down here heading in that direction to pick up a car that would be hauling an empty trailer and would want a reasonable price just to offset they fuel they were going to spend anyway.
(I actually have somebody coming from Montreal to Halifax in a few weeks with an empty trailer to pick up the 240 and is looking for somebody wanting a car moved from there to here.)

RX-7 from Halifax to Toronto costs roughly $610 with SeaRail, this is if you drop off and pick up yourself. I know because that's what I'm doing this friday.
