It's likely the site outsources it's ads to Google Ads (or maybe Yahoo or something like that) that places the banners - so Tiger ads end up here based on the fact it's an import car forum - and possibly because there are so many references within the forum. The webcrawlers wouldn't have the ability to assess whether the references are positive or not, just that they're here, so why not place an ad for that advertiser here too. It is funny tho'.

so I guess I missed this thread (at least, after I bought my GTR)

THEY RIPPED ME OFF, don't go there for anything!

Sold me a car. 12 hours later the engine dies. Thanks ********!

works now and it's a good car, but it cost me nearly 2/3 of the purchase price of the car to make it work again.

search first. Buy things second.

Hope you get a good motor but you probably won't.

:/ your grammar is atrocious!

You probably should've bought an S4 TII as well, but don't quote me on it (not familiar with T2 swaps).

I dont know about these jap auto import shops in Ontario, but I can tell you that here in Montreal there's like 12 of them. And they're all FULL OF ****! Only 1 place out of the 12 I would trust. It's called JDM Montreal. But they only sell cars no motors. My cousin bought a JDM 92 WRX STI. And he's happy.

Anyways getting back to the motor subject. Me 2 at one point I was going crazy looking for a 13bt motor and I didn't want to buy a from a JDM shop. So I was waiting patiently until I found one for sale on this forum. I found a HBP S4 motor with a brand new alternator/ water pump and a haltech F10X and wireing harness for 2200$. I got it shipped from LA. It took almost a month to get it and it's now a year that I have it and I am not dissapointed.

Friendly advise I can give you is buy a motor from a Forum member and not some JDM junk with no compression and no guarantee.

S4 TII would probably be an easier swap, but I'm not sure - I read up (and remembered) more on S5 na to turbo swaps, and know that S5 to S5T is a lot easier.

If your engine is a dud and they won't resolve it with you (which it doesn't sound like is likely based on others' experiences), you may at least have a decent core to use for a rebuild.

Haven't personally been there myself, but have heard mixed reviews. Their prices seem to be pretty competitive though.

Tigger is out ov ur juristiction, so wtf shood they care if ur motor isgood or not? it would be supper tuff 4 u to prosecute, so, as thay sey:

Kaveeot Emptor.

those guys are bigger ******** then tiger.

i wouldnt buy any motorsets from either of the importers. Its better to buy a Front clip.. and dont take it if its missing the cluster .. they tend to take them out when their high mileage.

and dont bother going to any of the tuning shops ..I.E Ive seen the tecknotic boys a couple of times at Tokyo auto parts and Toronto JDM buying jdm stuff and motors.

The bigger problem here (don't get me wrong, Tiger japanese is a ******* JOKE, horrible, nasty jerks) is what you're buying.

You think a USED engine for a 20+ year old car bought from a place who gets their parts from a JUNKYARD is going to be a real peach? A JDM engine (especially a rotary!!!!) is going to be a core, or last ditch replacement at best. Go in knowing this and you'll be better off.

But like I say, the guys at Tiger are jerks even before something goes wrong.

Once again take my advise, be patient and buy one from a forum member. I live in Montreal Quebec and I bought my HBP motor from a forum member in LA. And I felt more comfortable dealing with him than any JDM shop.
