.. OR... 92' FD, from japan, $2400-$4500 .. RORO =$1000-$2000 container= ~$3000-$4500 ( with the ability to stuff the car with other parts for other people to offset costs) .. all told , most of these landed are ~ $9-10K ( buying from an online brokerage, cheaper if you do it it yourself by $1000-$2000)

I don't have anything to do with the selling or shipping of these, this is not an ad.. but it is a viable alternative to buying an artifically inflated value Can FD.

^^ Get off the Japan story. I have imported before and it is a different world. Can't compare
USDM cars to JDM. $9-10k in Japan is going to lead to nothing but trouble. Most top exporters do not want to touch the FD for good reasons. Sure you can get a solid car but you have to pay to do it.

forgot.. the price is a little high. Just for example if I would sell mine I would be thinking $28-29k all original with a few bolt on mods... Volks and only 16k miles on it. Car looks sweet in the sig though!

I agree with fubawu, about the JDM thing.

The same person that wants a good, LHD FD for over 20k today, is the same person who is going to buy a good, LHD FD for over 20k after JDM's car hit the shores.

The JDM cars are only going to open up the bottom end of the FD market, and not hem in the top.

And i aslo agree, 30,000 is ridiculous, you could go get that 1995 r2 with crazy low miles in toronto for 25. 22-25 is probably the most you should ask.

It's your car and you can ask what you want, but you obviously posted a feeler.

If somone pulled up beside me and offerred me 30k, that would sure as hell be the right price though, but i wouldn't try to go fishing for it.

?? why not? smae S6 design, low runst, most have low kms , allot of them are stock , ssome aren't .. as for ' leading to nothing but trouble' where do you get this info? iv'e dealt with ALLOT of JDM cars from silvias to skylines and MR2's never had an issue that was ANY different then dealing with a NADM car.. I would LOVE to hear about these ' top exporters' you reference so far I've yet to meet/talk to an exporter that deals in Canada that is nothing but 150% pumped about the FD becoming available.. Iv'e seen 5 FD's sold so far all have sold in the first 6hrs of being posted and none has been anymore then $10K landed in Toronto fully cleared. what your left with is the tax/lic/tarifs on a $2400-$4500 car.. ( these are not bottom of the barrel prices for beat cars, this is what the avg. to mildly modded FD goes for over there , hop on yahoo auctions japan and see for yourself. what your trying to get $20-30k for over here is worth 20% of that over there.. whch for allot of us who are not concerned with LH vs. RH drive and who know that NADM FD's are over priced due to ' numbers sold ' is the best news on the FD front for along time.

I'm sure you'll have more then enough people interested in your over priced car when the time comes for you to sell it.. but don't try to throw your conjecture and bias on this for others.

Sure some of the exporters are pumped to sell FD's I bet they do not care what happens to the car or you when it arrives either. I will always want a USDM car over a JDM LHD vs RHD
being able to see the car before buying etc etc. In the case of rare cars like Silvia's and GTR's exporting is only way. Also the RB26 is a little more reliable than the 13b so it is a easier buy.
Let's leave this thread alone. FD's are still under valued but that is changing! Good luck with the sale!!

One of the things that i like about the JDM stuff, is that for us, FD's will not "age" for another 9 years, meaning you're always going to be able to get a 15 y.0 FD till 2016.

I think i would get a JDM FD, once you can get an s8.

And yeah, i guess we should quick hijacking the thread, but it should be in the market place, not here.

what it sounds like is your afraid of the rotary. your more then willing to accept skylines and Silvia's even though their are a tonne of 1 day SR20det swaps out there in Canada.. which kinda negates your argument about rarity. Yet the FD is 'risky proposition'.... ALLOT of people myself included who deal with or know people in Japan can safely rely on them to pick the right car.. and frankly, given that people are selling punched to ***** slavage title FD's for $7000+ and actually getting people interested.. me paying ~$9k for a rust free car that, ( even if the enigne is on it's last legs.. ) is STILL a smokin' deal compared to what an FD in running condition is worth in US/Can right now.

whatever you choose is none of my business.. but there are more people out there awaiting Nov 1st. then you realize. Either way it will serve to correct the inflaton of the NADM FD's. Which is unfortunate for those who bought high and are looking to sell as high or higher.
