btw i noticed that when the intercooler heat soaks the car will not boost correctly. It will not boost as high.

ON the first pass i boosted to 0.63 kg/cm^2 pr 9.1 psig

the subsequent passes only let me boost up to 0.53 to 0.56 kg/cm^2.

But as i left shannonville and got onot the highway i could againt boost up to 0.61 kg/cm^2 without problems and no settings on teh boost controller of fuel computer were changed.

Haha!!! The King of BLingBLing destroyed you!!!!
Feel the shame!!!

Guess you got by the usless FMIC/Stock turbo combination...

So, how was your first time DRing?

Ian Seems like you improved with every run. I like that 101mph trap on the last one.

How where your Kumho's at the track. I'm sure that with drag radials or slicks and more practice, you could put down some low 13's. Sweet!!!

What where your lauches like?

Man and I thought I sucked the time I went. Cheers don't go blaming the car! You put in a 95mph run which is plenty quick. Fastest reviewed TII was a S4 14.9 @ 94mph. Not that this effects your 1/4 time, but your reaction times are brutial.

I'm very impressed at Ian's 101.83 mph run. If I recall he's at 10psi.

Woah! Reaction times that are 1.4+?!

What were you waiting for, a hug and a kiss?

Oh well I shouldn't talk, my reaction times aren't that much better. You should really be dumping the clutch (or initiating your launch technique) by the last yellow light.

Reaction times will REALLY improve your ETs.

Glad you posted results, BTW! Cool to see.

hahah... dude it was my first time... the first time i was at the thing... i got onto the lights... except i was over a 1/2 car too far in... the guy knocked on my window and said first time?
i said yup with a nervous voice... and he had to explain the tree system to me...

WE HAVE vids too.. IAN lost to a volvo.

btw drama alaways occurs when more then 1 rx7 is together. IAN blew the Waterpump/AC betl and didn't realize this until after 2 runs... WOAH. and he kept asking me why his voltage was so low. I was like... i do' tnow bad alternator then we loooked in the hood and there was no belt.

I was kinda wondering why the guy staging me picked up a belt from the ground.
WOAH!

All reaction times will allow you to do is win more races. They do not affect ET's as the time doesn't start running until the car moves.

You could wait 5 minutes to launch and sill run a 12 second pass, albeit you would lose the race except maybe against a Model-T Ford

Ian, why did you only pull a 2.1 60ft on 255's in the rear? How did you launch?

I did a 2.0 60ft with crappy 205 eldorado (no name) tires.

LMAO

This is IAN posting under my brother!

Well first was that I was scared shitless when the very first time I was ever at a drag and they had to line me up with a real drag car running a 457 something in a crazy wide tire configuration volvo monstrosity that made my ears bleed when he burned his tires in the burn pit! The dam guy trailered his car there!!!!!!!!!!

I launched it at 4500 to 5000rpm and spun the car to 82XXrpm and had severe wheel hop etc, and then still managed to miss second gear. I was so ashamed and had this all caught on tape with my brothers laughing there heads off!!

Jason's car is dam quick. I cannot believe his car has that much punch with the KM on that orginal engine running that low of boost.

I notice my boost problems was due to duty cycles after I left the track. I was spiking to .57kg/cm2 and holding .50kgcm2. I cannot wait till I run .70!!!

Oh and its not 101.83 its 101.88 which is pretty close to 102mph This was done on the above boost pattern

Oh and about those reaction times. I could not figure out the launch pattern etc! The last run of the day I had .7 something so I almost had it or was just lucky.

October 10th is another friday night drag and October 13th is a lapping day. Last event this summer so derek here is your chance! Also my 60ft time lagged because I was easing into the gear I suck at launching!!

IAN

Launches I'm not sure. I think I was launching around 3000 to 3500 rpm since the first time all I did was spin like crazy lifting it at 5000rpm

Kumhos stick rather nicely but shannonville is the gravel pit from hell

Yup the improvement each time makes me want to go out again!!

Damn man. With 101mph traps you should beable to bang off 13.9s. Oh well, 14.2 isnt too bad for that speed on a crap track.

My first and only time I had better average R/Ts.

I know what you guys mean about nerves/pressure at the 1/4. My best run was the very first out of ~14 where I did a 94mph @ 15.4. I was kind of like "oh **** it went green!" As you can tell from the time vs. speed, the car did it's part, but the driver did not. That was on a everything stock S4 J-Spec (5.5psi on lower comp rotors) with 2 oil injectors disconnected and low-ish compression on the rear rotor. Tires were 205s crappy all season. I'm by no means bragging, simply trying to demonstrate the possibilities.

Drag racing is fun, but you don't get the rush you get from a road course. I'm dying to go back to a road course, but I haven't bothered to return to the 1/4 in over a year.

I launched at 4500rpm slipping the clutch really fast (almost a dump but not quite). Surprising that the tires gripped so well becuase my car is making decent power(106mph trap).

IAN, sounds like you need to grease up those muffler bearings, and fill up on halogen fluid. That will definitely bring down your 60ft.

I can't wait to get on the track.
