lol .. I don't know about any one else but personally the fastest i go on the road is 130 and that is to pass someone i set my cruise at 120. But for those ppl telling the OP to "stop driving like an *******" is a) very harsh and b) very stupid and judgemental. just because he was doing 150 doesn't mean he was riding ppl's tails and cutting ppl off (*******) i have not and never will describe someone who speeds as an ******* yes speeding is dangerous and can be very stupid but to make a judgement on someones personality is a bit critical

My advice was never judgemental, it was simple.

"Get a lawyer. Don't speed." One is proactive, the other is preemptive.

Everyone here does it, we own sports cars not Minivans He posts up he got caught big Friggin deal, is he expecting people to feel sorry for him? No I for one will not

Personally at 2 am Ive done 240km/h with a straight stretch of road and no one around me Will I make a post about it if I get caught prolly not it's Life

get a good lawyer and hope for the best

back when i was young and irresponsible i got clocked at 201 km/hr in my TII rx7 on the 401. thank god they didn't have the stunt driving law back then. The cop impounded my car and gave me a ticket for doing 45 over. I was very lucky. Just paid the 450 dollar fine and the higher insurance for a while.

Good luck with the court and everything dude.

I dunno, what would you call someone who's driving you self describe as dangerous and stupid?

I'm going to go with "an *******"

Sorry boys. I'm not retracting this one. I stand my my statement to quit driving like an *******. And just cause one drives like an ******* doesn't necessarily mean that one is an *******. Be a man about it, quit trying to find the easy way out, pay your ridiculous fines, and move on.

Well i don't post a lot but this i have to! I myself I'm fighting a stunt charge i received in Nov. for 152km in a 80km zone.So far this has happened.
- Fc towed on the spot and licence suspended for 7days
-$1200 pound fee(only payed $400 friend towed my car.
-Hired a real lawyer $2400 flat rate on the spot
When i hired the lawyer i had 1 request "I have to keep my licence". On the 2nd court the lawyer talked to the crown and told my request." Sure he can keep his licence but $7000 fine" The lawyer worked his magic tho. I now sit at max $2000 fine but the charge will not be dropped. I have one more court date where the lawyer will try for $1000 fine. Now i just have to wait for insurance to go up.
After many sleepless nights, being in 2 news papers, and trying to hide the charge from work and family i wish i never went out thet night but i had my reason. We have ALL done it !
Good luck! whats done is done, just keep on living and trust me you will never drive the same again!

Boy am I glad I dont live in Ontario. Sounds like they have a stunting ticket for sneezing.

But you guys are lucky, you got race tracks, and place to go to dick around. They are pretty close to shutting everything down out here. We dont have any permanent race tracks anymore.

My Advice from the land of no raceways? Dont get caught.

As many have said, Ive been there before...

I was clocked at 195 in my grand am (1992 ) racing a volvo and a infinity g35 on the highway, from the west end of Ottawa to the ontario border on the 417. i was 17 at the time, and my plates were expired, I had two kegs in the back of my car (one was empty) and half my bumper and one front light was missing.. It was needless to say very stupid on my part.... but I was the only on to actually pull over (****** gotme on my exit ).
the cops were real cool about it... after he put his gun away and my cars engine was killed...

He let me slide with a fine for the expired plates and a 120 in a 100 zone... but only because they had to leave in a hurry for an urgent fire and gunshot call nearby... they took my keg too, but I picked it up from the locker room the next day with an adult...

My point is why bother going that fast on public roads... you cant win. EVER. You may get lucky, and if you show remorse they will likely lower it, but if you try to fight them to the extreme they will nail you hard. Man up, do the best you can with your lawyer and be happy you didnt cause an accident and your not being charged with vehilcle manslaughter and in jail... I know someone that had that happen, and let just say prison is not what he had planned for his life.

We ALL speed, we ALL own rx7s.( i mean 1km over is still speeding) Its a given.. but if you do choose to be an *** on the roads (yeah I said hes an ***) then either do it out by farmers feilds where you may not get caught or hit anyone, or be prepared to be fined, imprisoned or dead.

Oh... I moved to quebec for three years to be able to afford insurance, if you can do that, I suggest it... its very very cheap over there.... but you pay like a bastard for land taxes... so dont make too much money or have your pay deducted accordingly.

Better late then: broke, uninsurable, or dead.
Thats concludes my rant... for now.

Personally,I wouldn't be Typing up a thread on the forum to mention that I got a Speeding Ticket.
I'd be kicking Myself in the ***...but Publicize it?
I mean really, you got Caught, you broke the Law.and you are asking Other people HOW you can "feel better"?.(hire a fancy lawyer, spend Big Bucks,,spank you on the *** and go Home).
I think you should use the Old "insanity" plea..Because you are Freakin NUTS to think that anyone here would feel sorry for you,and Offer up their Solution to your Problem.
Pay the price of your actions.

What if this thread was something along the lines of:

"I was really drunk and driving home and the cops caught me, I didn't hit or kill anyone though"

or

"I was out at the side of a deserted road shooting my gun in random directions, no one was around, but the cops arrested me"

Just because no one was hurt or killed doesn't mean what he did wasn't incredibly stupid. Just because YOU have sped many times and not lost control or crashed doesn't mean that it doesn't happen thousands of times a year, and in some cases lives are lost that had nothing to do with the person speeding.

What if this post was

"I was doing 50 over and I slammed into a car and killed all the occupants"

Just because no one was killed THIS TIME doesn't make it ok, or less bad.

-Geoff

Well said. I've got no sympathy for it OP or anyone else driving like this. I drove like an *** when I was 18, got caught, paid my dues, and have learned. Time for you to do the same.

I've done over 140 km/h a few times myself. (140 mph in a Turbo Miata, 180km/h in my old V6 MX6)...I'm scared to do so now because I could not deal not having a license..I rely on my car for just about everything. So I haven't done it since, and next time I can i'm goin to the track for spectator races. My advice is, be wary of the speed rating of your tires for one. Try to go to the track to satisfy your need for speed or be ready to face the consequences.
