Spring Is Here
Spring Is Here
Finally was able to clear all the branches away from in front of garage and get them to the dump. Still found a small ice pile under the very bottom, grrrr...... Opened up the garage door, cleared away a winters worth of debris that had gotten stacked there, went out to drop my son off at a buddy's place, filled my wife's Explorer up with gas, met Marco at the station as he filled up his FD, went home rolled the pig out of the garage, hooked up the battery charger and booster cables and... and... nothing.
Had to figgle around with the booster cables a bit, saw 14 volts on the voltmeter finally, hit the button and rrrrrr..... rrrrrrrr..... click, click, click....... Mother %$^&ing pile, jiggled the the booster cables some more, rrrrrr, rrrrrr, rrrrrr, rrrr, cough, rrrrrrr. Some more swearing at it, jiggled the cables one more time, 14.7 volts on the voltmeter and tried it again. RRRpop, pop, pop, brraaaaapppp, braaaappp, braaaaappp. Tons of smoke and goop and all of sudden it was alive again. It settled into an easy lope, 110 psi, some mild smoke as it was on the cold fuel enrichment using fuel from last September. My neighbours came out on to their front porch and watched as I quickly ran around and pulled off the booster cables, closed the passenger door and jumped back in. Put the steering wheel back on and then backed it back into the garage and turned it off before I stunk up the house.
Stepped back out into the driveway coughing and my neighbour (retired head surgeon at Oakville Trafalgar General Hospital) calls over to me and laughs and says, "Yep Springs here finally. Eric has his racecar out again."
I love that old pig of a car.
