Spotted a Rotary Suzuki today - Anyone know anythign about these.

I was wandering through alleys as I commonly do today and I spotted a Suzuki Motorbike with a 1 Rotor Rotary. It had a rotary emblem on the tank and looked factory. I've heard of these. It was OLD like maybe 70's? and of course the specimen I spotted was pretty well past the point of no return. It was a sportier style.

Anyone know anything about these?

I was tempted to buy a mint condition rotary Evinrude (sp?) a few years ago. It was a heavy ****. And bloody expensive.

I noticed this one up against a fence amid rubble in some dudes, unfenced in back yard. After closer inspection, it appears it hasnt moved in about as much time as I've been alive.

However, it appears in relatively deicent shape, like it was covered for years, but finally neglected.

Perhaps offering the owner a trade for my bike might land it in my hands.........

the model was SE5, coincidentally I saw a thing about them on the suzuki website today also. they never took off because they ate alot of gas and were soemthing new people were afraid of taking a chance on. they were high revving 16,500 rpm. there is acctually quite a bit of info on the suzuki website. they ran hot (typical wankel) so were water cooled (rad on the front) and had extra heat sheilds added.

soemthing like that would be an amazing project.
