looking good, i like how you moulded the quarter panel into the front bumper... it will be a pain in the *** if you ever get into an accident though.

I see a bomex front....but what are the sideskirts and rear cover?

Looks like it'll turn out decent...not really a fan of moulding covers/skirts.....but it looks neato.

Good work man!

Funny thing is the original plan was to make it a track car, but with everything blended in it's just not practical. Not to mention the paint will be two tone so it's gonna be a bitch if I ever need to repair it. The side skirts are gp1's and the rear is one I bought from a friend in newmarket. I'm pretty sure it was designed and built locally. Only problem is now I need to find a set of 18's for it right away. The 16's that I bought (got a smokin deal) are way too small. \

Nice work brent.

Good work. I would love to see that car in person one day.

I'm actually in Alcona just south of Barrie. Glad you guy's like it. I'm sure my paint scheme will get a lot of mixed reactions, it should be interesting to see what people think. I'm sure most of you will get to see the car in person this summer. Hopefully it'll be on the road by the end of June at the latest. I still need to figure out what do do about headlights. I've got a lot of ideas just can't decide til I get the car back to my shop. It's been at the body shop for close to a month now. I keep adding more to the poor guys list of things to do. You guys know if I'll get tickets if I don't run the marker lights on the sides?

It would be a pain in the *** no matter what you do to your car if you get in an accident. It's just not something one has on their mind when modifying the car.

I believe if the car had them from factory your supposed to keep them. However i don't think it's something an officer would notice.

Great work as always though brent. Seeing your doors makes me miss the shaved door handles. Reminds me of this girl telling me the car looked smooth and sexy

Anyways, awsome work as always. Now post some pics after paint.

Thanks Frank. I just came back from the final check on the car. In the pics about it really wasn't 100% ready. Now he's got the car sanded to about 600 grit and the body lines are sharp and crisp. I'll get my first glimpse of the car in paint tomorrow night after work. Can't wait. When my wife asked Michael if all his customer's are as fussy as me he replied" no, but most of them don't have a car this nice either". Maybe he was just flattering me but I like to think it's true.LOL. Also helps that I fabricate stuff for him.

They're not easy to find anywhere. Part of the problem is everyone wants there car back right away. A lot of people get impatient and rush the painter, I want my car back as bad as the next guy but I'm not willing to sacrifice the quality. This is the 4th painter that I've been to in the last 10yrs. I've known Andrew for about 4yrs now. He's a great guy, and he happens to be an rx-7 nut like the rest of us, so my car's important to him. I just realized I called him Michael in my last post. Oops, that's his last name. The other thing I find is that the other shops that do nice work are booked months in advance and they charge an arm and a leg. Hopefully tomorrow I can post some pics of the paint job. Won't be cut and polished yet but I'll try to post them none the less.

Ciao for now.

Brent, the bodykit looks great. I am shocked at how close it looks to an older TVR without the rear hatch.

I will try to dig up a shot.

Looks great, can't wait to see it in person.

Funny you mention the 4x4 look. It's actually got eibach pro kit springs and tockico shocks, so it normally sits 3/4" lower than stock. It's sitting high because there's no hatch, windshield, interior, sunroof, windows, lights etc... I have a set of sleeves(acme thread like in coil overs) that I'll be using to convert the struts to coil overs so I can adjust the ride height. Also I'm gonna throw some 18's on it after I pay off the $$$$ that I owe for some of the parts and paint. It's hard to make extra cash when I'm constantly working on my car.LOL.

23racer, thanks, I'd be interested in seeing the shots your talking about. I'm almost considering building another one without the hatch, sort of an rcamino. On second thought maybe I better finish this one and the 1st gen I just bought before I start another one.LOL.

Finally got to see the car in colour!

Like the title says, the car's finally painted. All that's left now is the cut and polish, then I can bring it home. Sorry the pics aren't the greatest. I used my crappy old digital. Once the clear has a week or 2 to cure I'll be applying a thin grey pinstripe to divide the colours.

Colours look awsome !

I'm not a huge fan of two-tone but it looks great.

Still looks like something is missing on the car though

Yeah, it's kind of a muscle car theme. I had a friend of mine draw it up with just the top of the car black and it didn't look right. Before I even saw the first drawing he'd already drawn up this paint scheme. The second I saw it I loved it.

Funny you should mention it, I was just talking to boosted rex about some info. Send me the pics, I'm considering a cf sunroof and guage pods. Send me pics and prices of whatever you've got. Do you guys have a store with a display room? Maybe I could come see the stuff in person.
