So who are we voting for today?

I can't really decide.
None of the leaders really promote themselves as to why I should vote for them. All they do is bash the other candidates so I don't vote for the other guys.

I think I am going to vote for the Green Party by default.
Or if the Communist Party of Canada was in Ontario, I'll vote for them!

I like the Green parties platform except that last election they promised to increase the tax on gas by 10 cents a litre!!! I'll be lucky if I get to the polls. Last year I spoiled my ballot and stated "I don't like my options". They've each screwed us whilst in power.

Whatever you do vote against the MMP (Mixed Member Parliament) idea. It has been disected and shown to cost taxpayers millions and millions more as it increases the human scale of parliament and administration costs.

Mmp

while i basically agree with jason, the one good thing about mmp is that you can spoil/protest vote against a party while still casting a vote for the best person in your riding.

probably isnt enuf reason to vote for it though since, like jason said, it will mean bigger, more expensive government AND it means there will be people elected who arent directly accountable to a specific set of voters.

now, if only i could find a resonably priced, good condition first gen rx7 to replace the lemon i bought ...

Only thing I know is I'm going no on MMP

The one thing we're allowed to do as citizens of Canada is fill the house with members elected by you and I. Not to fill 80% of the house with choices of yours and mine and allow the (then elected) officals to fill in the blanks with whomever they please.

To me its not worth the hassle. I do like the princple of the idea and the two electorals idea, but not this time. Maybe if they re-think and revise it I'll like it better down the road, but for now I'm saying NO.

Think twice about Liberal... afterall it was McGuinty whose spine went to jello when pressured by chiefs of police, safety advocates, media, etc. to rush a poorly thought through "street racing" law...

Exactly!

Plus, on the MMP thing, I don't want each party electing a bunch of "yes men" to their alloted "extra" seats to back their ill-concieved, public appeasement laws.

I'll pick my own yes men thanks

I normally subscribe to Churchill's philosophy, but when I got into that booth I decided that Dalton needed to pay for that piece of crap legislation, so I voted Green.

I voted Orange for the 1st time in my life. Greg Sorbara is in my riding and I doubt anything I do will change that. But I did vote for MMP.

Well, the Liberals are back again... People simply forgot:

Their 40% salary increase
The new health tax
The lottery scandal
Sponsorship scandal (1,000,000 to that cricket club that asked for $100K)
The city of Toronto act which gave Miller new taxing power

What the hell?!?!?!

Lets not forget the land transfer and vehicle registration increase.

Miller is going to push it thru this time seeing how Liberals have more seats than ever.

416'ers just don't make sense... let's overwhelmingly vote in (again) the same government that is out to leave us hanging hi and dry... Oh, but here's a new holiday in February as a peace offering. Moving north was the best thing I ever did...

All Toronto has to do is start paying the property taxes proportional to those in the 905 etc. for the luxury they have of living in Toronto proper and all those services at their doorstep. Why should my tax dollars go to a TTC labour unions when I live north of the city? Unions, striking for job security... guess what... nobodies job is secure you dolts! Okay, went off on a bit of a tangent there... lol Sorry!

i still think there should be a 'none of the above' option... spoiling your ballot is one thing, but none of the above would really send a message. would be expensive to keep having elections until there someone worthy of voting for but.......
