So I came back from running an errand today...

.....and something shiny was blocking my driveway. At first I thought it was an early birthday present until I realized that it was Charn's newly painted beast. It looks awesome, but it looks like my Canon put a different spin on the colour hue.

I think I may have seen Jimmy giving a nod of approval at some point....ahhh good times

Great choice, Charn and great work, Joe!

The red car is Paul's and my dirty girl is tucked away in the garage...she's been feeling ignored for a while and today she was downright jealous.

Only FD owners take the seats out to vacuum the carpet.

If I wasn't so bad at keeping things looking good, that's what I'd be working towards. Looks awesome.

I found myself sneaking out of the house this morning just to go look at the car. I really like how it turned out. I'll take some shots of it tomorrow when I mount the new wheels. The stockers don't do the paint justice.

The paint looks really clean and prestine.
Out of curiousity, what's the colour? Is it Montego Blue?

Classic Joe at work!

Conincedently, I always wanted to get my Miata in that colour.
Unfortunately they didn't have it in the trim level I was looking for. Had to settle for Brilliant Black instead.

It must be the curves or something. It almost looks like Montego Blue.
Regardless, it's a great finish!

Its just the camera/lighting

It looks NOTHING like MB. You really need to see this colour in person on the FD to get it, the pearl effect is a brilliant blue.

Glad you like it Charn Can't wait to see the works on there. Be sure get a shot looking down the side of it so we can see the flushness with the "flaring"

It will be one more day of waiting for the Works. They are in Toronto but not at Tires23 until tomorrow. I dropped off my rubber to be mounted today since I could not fit it in the FD anyway.

I took a couple of shots with a regular point and shoot. They are overcast shots so I'll have to get my hands on the wife's DSLR to get good shots of the pearl effect in the sun.

I got on my hands and knees and painted the calipers and rotors since they really needed it. I used the brush on kit but I think the caliper off spray on kits do a better job. I'll do it again when I do the next brake job.

I also painted Darryl's stock wheel centre caps with Tremclad Silver, which seems to be a very good match. I hope that makes up for losing all the valve caps!

Wow, a set of Yoko A520s. I haven't seen those tires in years - I had a set for my FC back around 1999-2000, they rocked, but only lasted a couple summers. That car hasn't been getting nearly enough vigorous exercise not to have worn those out

The car does look very sharp, I'll look forward seeing pics with your new rims and rubber.

I think there will be plenty of differences when I am finished. I am going to be adding Feed sides, RE diffuser, clearing the side markers and possibly tinting the glass. Plus our wheels have a different finish. Last time I saw your car it was 99 spec'd.

I was there at Darryl's too at the time, and saw it in person. It's got such an amazing paintjob, stunning looks.

It looked almost as good as my FX45 and its new trailer.

I'm not so sure about Jimmy nodding; Jimmy thinks it's purple.

Fantastic job Joe! Gorgeous FD Charn!
