Talking Smart Tipping

A friend of mine sent me this link: http://www.mbcanada.com/forum/index....opic=7930&st=0

I guess we're fortunately that our cars have a lower center of gravity, a wider wheelbase and are stiffly sprung....

THAT is probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Not only have I repeatedly thought about doing that, I've been waiting for someone else to try it first.

But not to appear completely heartless, I feel bad for the way it had to happen. I've been a victom of vandalism several times and waking up to your car trashed isnt always a good thing.

Haha, I think I said it before, it's sad people don't have anything better to do. Keying an FD, 'tipping' a smart car, car hopping, these kinda things are really low >.<

One of those smart cars was on the news (Global) this evenin (apr. 28)... talking about how they're becoming popular as a way to keep the air clean and save on gas, etc etc. Silly looking things; What's the drive train on them? I'd imagine they'd be all over the place in the winter -.-

Government of Canada has a roadster that they are running around. Is it yellow? Does it look like this one?

Yep, 3cyl turbo diesel - a whole 40 hp (not bad 73lb/ft torque tho'). I understand they're supposed to be great on snow - Mercedes knows traction control, and the engine's right over the rear (drive) wheels. We've had one in the lobby at work off and on the last few months - the company's offering one in a draw in August if we meet our targets - I wouldn't buy one (just too small and slow) - but I'd be happy to win one! Especially since parking is a nightmare at work.
Back to the thread topic, I just don't see it as very funny to damage some else's stuff, period. Belongs to the same anti-social mind-set as stealing cars to "joy-ride", which usually involves thousands in damage or outright destruction of the car, or as another poster noted, targeting your car for keying because its nice - or smashing the glass out of bus shelters - stupid vandalism. A car so small invites pranks, but they don't have to be destructive - as high-schoolers, I can recall moving people's (mostly friends, and hence a good-natured prank) Mini's or early Civics onto sidewalks and stealing the parking space, or turning it sideways to how it had been parked. Tipping a car, Smart or otherwise, is not smart, or clever, or good natured - it's just ignorant and destructive.

I would never do such a thing, for the above stated reasons, but wouldn't you like to be able to do it and then after go back in time so that the car wouldn't be trashed?
