Sigma Time Attack 2013 - Who's in? Who's interested?
Well as some might know I've sold my car but might be back with something different so I still continuously look at Sigma Time Attack Event updates. Looks like Sigma may have been recognized by Mazda.

Im planning to attend more events this year with an engine that hopefully doesnt leak or burn any oil. Doesnt matter if I come in last place, im in it for the thrill of driving one of the oldest cars SRTA has had compete, and have some fun throwing the old 79 around.

Thank you for the thread Ian!
We're all so pumped about the Mazda contingency! We have some pretty cool updates from Mazda Canada:
"The highest placed, 2nd highest placed, and 3rd highest placed Mazda racers in either of your two classes, in any SRTA-organized race event, and who meets eligibility requirements, at one of your (maximum) 5 SRTA events in 2013 can earn contingency as follows:
1st highest - $150
2nd highest - $75
3rd highest - $50"
"Please share this with your membership as you see fit, and urge them to meet eligibility requirements by registering and adhering to decal requirements at:
http://mazdamotorsports.com/wcsstore...gistration.htm"
This means, Mazda racers don't necessary have to be any of the top 3 places at an SRTA race. The Mazda contingency payout is a race amongst the Mazda racers and the payout is guaranteed at every SRTA race. For BOTH Classes A and B!
SRTA will publicly announce this on our site and various forums once we're ready to officially kick off the season. Hopefully this can really provide some incentives support to our Mazda racers, and don't forget the regular SRTA payout!

I see the schedule for 2013 is up now, disappointed that they dropped DDT and are now going to Shannonville. Too far for me to feel safe going and running my car on the track. I would go to spectate though, make a weekend of it.

I enjoyed DDT as it was a nice fit for the power my car makes and it had some elevation change as well. Oh well, time to move up to TMP and take the training wheels off, so to speak. I know DDT would be boring to those with more power or experience so I guess I'm not surprised.

The difference between TMP and Shannonville is night and day. It's worth the drive especially if you've never been there, then you can decide for yourself. Hell, I've driven north of Ottawa just for a Calabogie track day, which by the way is an AWESOME track.

My wife gave me a Calabogie track day as a birthday present a few years ago, what an amazing track, have to get back there soon. The drive up to Calabogie is beautiful and challenging if you take the back roads like centennial lake road and the 5 series roads in the area.

I agree, TMP is a fun little track but Shannonville will test you a lot more, but I've have not been for a couple of years just because it such a long trek on the 401.

Buggy, You can stay at my house if I plan on going or not.We can discuss near the events. Not sure on the dates yet as I don't see it on the sigma website. (My mom lives near there so I usually bring my son and stay the night there.
Does not look like i will have a car for this year yet.
