hey, does anyone know any good companies that would be great to ship cars from ontario to calgary, and with those companies, if possible, any rough estimates of pricing would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for now guys,

No idea, but I once drove a 1st gen from Ottawa to Calgary in approx. 40 hours of driving time and consumed about five tanks of gas. (the entire trip was from Woodstock, NB to Vancouver, BC and took ten tanks of gas costing $300. This was in 1995, when gas cost around $0.60 per liter).
I'm guessing that same trip from Ottawa to Calgary would now cost around $200 in gas, $80 for one night at a motel in Thunder Bay, two days of your time and $300 for a one-way WestJet ticket back to Ontario. This gives you a total of around $580 plus two days to do it yourself.
If shipping the car costs no more than say, $800 it would probably be best to go that route. But if it's more then I'd go for the two-day half-way-across-Canada adventure.

This is backed up in no way by my own research, but i heard somwhere on these or another car forum, that it would be about 800 on the train, but you're car gets all gummed up with rail mess.
I' have hoever talked to shipping companies about getting a car trucked up from Texas, and that quote was about 1800 USD

my sister shipped her 91 acura nsx from bc to ont. on a train. upon arrival we noticed that there was little brown spots all over it. the company called it ''enviromental fall-out''. turns out it was dust from the brakes of the train. the company said that u get ur car back in the same condition it left in. when she called and told them they claimed they were not responsible for "enviromental fall-out". after repeated calls and conversations with management the company called the police on my sister for harassment. she had to spend $1000 to have her car clay barred at a detailer. after that ordeal i think id just drive it. the drive is awesome anyways

What he said. After hearing the above horror stories I'd just as soon drive. And yes, it's an interesting trip. If you have two or three days availabe to you driving seems like the way to go.
