Thanks Ken,

I responded to your reply on my work email account but I'll ask the same here so everyone is clear on my communications with you.

My question to Ken

As well, we're looking to place this order on or a little after October 15th. I wanted to give everyone enough time to get their funds together.

Shipping quote was a flat $250 from Fedex. I will confirm with Ken that his reply in the other thread that this includes customs/broker fees.

If there is room, and the total is 250 inclusive then I too am interested in a street Diffuser.

My email reply to Ken asked about how the payment will work. I would like to confirm whether we all have to place seperate orders or if it all has to come as one big order.

As soon as I know, I'll post in this thread.

I'm going to assume that the shipping all has to be paid in one shot (again Ken can correct me if I'm wrong). If so since I'll be receiving the shipment, you'll all have to paypal (or email money transfer or show up and hand me cash in hand) BEFORE the order goes through if you do not pay your share of the shipping in advance, your item does not go in the box and you will be responsible for your own shipping and/or getting a refund for your parts

ALSO:

If I do get hit for broker/customs fee's they will be divided equally amongst the people who have items in the box. I will provide proof of the fee's and your products will not be released until you pay your share.

This is all speculation at this time. I will aim to have direct answers from Ken as soon as I can.

-Geoff

If there is room, sure. If there isn't... well there isn't.

Hopefully Ken will respond to this thread and let you know.

Hey Ian,

There's definitely a working phone number on our site, but I just emailed you .

DoubleJ,

This is what I wrote in my post

"Here is how it works. We can ship a package size:

72x33x12 inches (fit diffusers, sides, lips,..... almost anything but a bumper)

through fedex for $250 all inclusive of local fees, such as brokerage, customs, and even taxes. The parts are made in the U.S, so you shouldn't have to pay duties."

Here is what Ken has said to me regarding the payments

Ken
So for anyone who is unclear what this means:

Each person will make their own individual order and pay only the cost of their part, not any additional shipping fees AT THAT EXACT TIME. Once all orders are placed each "box sharer" will give me their fraction of the shipping cost IN U.S. DOLLARS. I will then put the cost of shipping on my credit card.

The products will all be shipped to my place in Toronto (I live in the east end of the city, not far off of the Danforth).

Ken can pass me tracking information and I will even take the day off of work when I believe the package will arrive. I will inspect everything and ensure that no shipping damage has taken place.

Again:

If I do get hit with customs or duties, I will pay this on my credit card, BUT YOU ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY WITH NO NEGOTIATIONS WHATSOEVER WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR PARTS UNTIL YOUR EQUAL SHARE OF THIS IS PAID.

If you do not pay your share of customs or duties within two weeks of the box arriving (if they even apply, and from what Ken just posted it seems to be included, but I don't want any confusion or misunderstanding) I will sell your parts on the classifieds and keep whatever I am out of pocket for the fees and I will return to you whatever is left over.

I don't think I'm being unreaonable here, I just want to be completely upfront with everyone about how this will work and how I plan to resolve anyone not covering their costs.

Lastly

Please do not start your orders from Shine just yet.

I would like to clarify exactly with Ken how to indicate that you are a "box member" I do not want someone reading this thread and who has not indicated that they want to share costs to place an order and claim to be part of our box.

I am emailing Ken now. I seem to get replies from him every evening. However I am going away for the long weekend and will not return to the office until Tuesday. This means I will not know Ken's response regarding how to indicate that you are one of "us" until Tuesday. Please don't order or send money until I indicate that all is clear.

Thanks everyone for your patience, I want this to go as smoothly as possible.

Remember: The original "buy time" for this group was after the 15th and we're right on track.

Thanks!

Just keeping everyone up to date on my communications with Ken.

This is my reply to his email:

The way I'm understanding this is:

The buyers will place their individual orders with you and pay the cost of their products. I will pay you the $250 for Fedex off my credit card (no problem here) and I'll collect each buyer's share of the shipping on my end.

My (hopefully last) questions are:

When each buyer places their order, how will they indicate to you that they are part of the "Toronto Box Group"?

Is there room in the box for more parts? Now that the ball is rolling there seems to be additional interest. How many more "large-ish" items will fit? (I'm calling "large-ish" a Street Diffuser sized item.

Thanks again Ken, I'm glad this is all coming together smoothly.

I will be placing my order on October 15th and will pay the $250 worth of shipping to you at that time. Even though I'll be paying the shipping cost then, please don't ship until I give the "all ready" I'd like to make sure any last minute order-placers will have time to get their orders in. There's no rush to this group order

In the meantime, I will start putting the order together and it should be ready by the time you guys are ready to make payment.

Room for another street diffuser or pro diffuser. No room for the Sanai diffuser.

OK!

After-the-long-weekend-update:

I've received an invoice from Ken.

Looks like the way this is going to work is that I'll be responsible for collecting everyone's funds up front then putting the full amount on my credit card.

Here's how this will work:

I'm going to post up what each person owes, I'm also going to PM each individual with their share of the funds as well.

1) CloudPump - RE-Street Diffuser - FRP - PAID
2) MIBagentQ - 3rd gen undertray FRP - OWES $115
3)HighBoost - 3rd gen Street Diffuser FRP and 3-Piece Adjustable Undertray FRP - OWES $500
4) p4nc7 - 2nd gen hatch spoiler - OWES $150
5) JDMSTAR - 350z - z33 350z Spec-S Sideskirts Carbon Twill - Z33 350z TypeTS Rear Diffuser - OWES $900

All amounts listed are in US Funds.

Currently each buyer owes an additional $50 for shipping. I don't know if anyone is going to "disappear" from this buy list, so I can't guarantee your share of shipping won't increase.

Get your funds together, you can make arrangements to give me cash money, or you can palpay me, if you choose to paypal me you will need to either add 3% for paypal fees or you can send the money as a gift. If you are paypal-ing please include this in your description:

Payment for (insert your items here) including shipping Re: Shine Auto Parts Toronto Group Buy from RX7Club.com member (insert forum name here).

My PayPal address is: acid_86(at)hotmail(dot)com

All buyers have been PM'd with their share of the order.

If there are any questions or concerns I've included multiple ways to contact me in the PMs.

Each person has received information regarding the cost of their parts as well as their share of the shipping.

Please remember: If the box *is* hit with any customs/brokerage fees, as previously mentioned the cost of this will be divided equally amongst the buyers. Your parts will be held for ransom by me until you pay your share of the brokerage fees.

For all we know the above disclaimer may be a moot point, but everyone should be aware in advance so there are no hurt feelings or claims of misunderstanding.

I've decided to pass on this order, $50 shipping is more than I was looking to pay for shipping the flat 1-piece undertray. Will find another way to get it on my own thanks.

I've offered your spot to Double J.

If Double J takes the spot, no shipping cost changes will apply to current people on the order.

I've heard back from only 2 of the 4 people I've PM'd.

I see that the other two have logged on since I've sent the messages (yes, I'm e-stalking you) so get back to me and let me know what's happening on your end.

I pm'd ya back. What is the total for the Street Diffuser - FRP? I am sitting on the fence between getting it shipped to the border. I haven't had any issues with taxes/duty this way.
