Shine Auto Parts Order - Toronto Area

Just want to check and see if anyone plans on ordering anything from Shine in the next month or two.

I plan on putting in an order in late October/ mid November and if we combine orders we'll be able to save on shipping.

Let me know if there's any interest and we can co-ordinate something.

Have you guys thought about having the parts shipped to CBI USA | US Mailbox Rental & US Shipping Address Services

I've used them in the past and it worked out great. Not only was shipping cheaper, but no duty and brokerage fees either.

Based on one diffuser you could likely save $300

Based upon Shine's reply to the other thread here

https://www.rx7club.com/shineautopro...ronto-1011262/

It seems that a box that fits diffusers and undertrays includes duties and fees in the shipping costs.

Might be in...

CloudPump 09-25-12 08:30 AM

Alright, well I'm going to get this semi-started then.

My completely unqualified opinion is that we should be able to get 5 large-ish items in a box. Once I have 5 people signed up I'll get in touch with Shine and see if there's room for anything else.

If I'm wrong and the first five who sign up can't get everything in the one box we'll have to re-evaluate.

I do not understand how he can say the price includes shipping, duty, and brokerage fees. Most of those variables depend on weight, and cost. Something that is impossible to guess when we will throw 3-5 items in a box.

Even still it makes me wonder how cheap those 3-5 items would cost shipped to the border.

I don't believe duty is calculated by weight. I've just checked a few online duty calculators and none of them requested the weight of the item. Only the value of the items.

As for Brokerage Fees:

Customs brokers fees for courier companies vary, but are usually a good deal higher than the Canada Post fee. Some courier companies may absorb the custom brokers fees (including them in the courier service price), depending on the level of courier service you have selected. Others will add the customs brokers fees on top and you will have to pay those before you can get your parcel. If you select a courier service for shipping to Canada, check whether the level of service provided includes customs brokers fees. If it is not mentioned on the shopping site you are using, you can check the service guide on the individual courier company site or call the local number of the courier company to find out their policies.
So if their shipping provider for the "small box" includes these fees in their shipping costs then that covers that base as well.

As for the weight, (again speculation) perhaps they have a flat rate deal for whatever fits in the box.

The only variable I see here is the declared value on the goods and we all know that no one has ever (EVER!) fudged the numbers on that...

I meant shipping costs depend on the weight. Something that is hard to predict when they don't know what's going in the box.

Duty depends on the cost of the items and again we do not know what's going in the box.

So how can the price they show include shipping, duty, and fees?

As I speculated above:

1) If it's a flat rate box, weight does not matter.

2) If they "fudge" the value, duty can be calculated.

3) If the shipper includes brokerage fees in their shpping cost, broker fees are moot.

I don't care if you want to get in on the box (as long as everything fits).

I'm going to get in touch with Shine now and ask if they can confirm that all will fit in the box.

If we are full, people will get bumped out from the bottom of the list up.

1) CloudPump - RE-Street Diffuser - FRP
2) MIBagentQ - 3rd gen undertray
3)HighBoost - 3rd gen Street Diffuser and 3-Piece Adjustable Undertray
4) p4nc7 - 2nd gen hatch spoiler
5) JDMSTAR - 350z - z33 350z Spec-S Sideskirts Carbon Twill - Z33 350z TypeTS Rear Diffuser

Even though the list is full, I will still be aiming to place this order AFTER October 15 (that's my funds timeline).

Thanks everyone, I'll update when I know more.

I have just sent the following Email to Shine (I called but they didn't answer their phone)

Hello Shine Auto Project,

I am attempting to set up a group order for multiple different items you manufacture for several different buyers in the Toronto Ontario area so we can all split shipping costs by sharing one box.

Could you please let me know if all of the items I'm about to list will fit in one box:

Buyer 1:
1X FD3S RE-Style "Street" Diffuser (FRP)

Buyer 2:
1X FD3S 1 Piece Flat Undertray (currently not sure of material)

Buyer 3:
1X FD3S RE-Style "Street" Diffuser (currently not sure of material)
1X FD3S 3-Piece Adjustable Undertray (currently not sure of material)

Buyer 4:
1X FC3S 2nd Gen Hatch Spoiler (currently not sure of material)

Buyer 5:
1X Z33 350Z Spec-S Sideskirts (Carbon Twill)
1X Z33 350Z Type-TS Rear Diffuser (Carbon Twill)

This order is being co-ordinated though the Canadian Forum on Mazda RX7 | Owners, Parts, Repair, Performance, Mods, Wheels - RX7Club.com, if you would like to comment to our group order directly the thread is:

https://www.rx7club.com/canadian-for...-area-1012271/

If all of the items *will* fit in one box, could you please quote a shipping cost to:

XXX XXX Ave.
XXX XXX
Toronto, ON
XXX XXX

Thanks in Advance,
-Geoff

3rd gen 1 piece FRP undertray :)

shineautoproject 10-03-12 06:33 PM

Easy work. All items will fit. I can probably have this order ready in 2 weeks. Payment can be made anytime just as long as it is made before we ship :).

Remember... this package can only go to one location , so please coordinate the pick-ups amongst yourselves.

Ken

Double_J 10-03-12 07:05 PM

What was the shipping cost including all the extras?

IAN 10-03-12 09:08 PM

Called no answer and emailed no response. Guess I am out on this buy. No big deal considering spent to much there last time. Lol. Cheaper for me to run my car as is.
