I've got a FD coming from Japan very soon and I need to get it tuned to get it to take lower octane since there's no gas stations here that's like the Japanese. Does anyone know if there's any tuning shops around Markham, Richmond Hill, Scarborough that can really tune rx-7's? I don't want to take it to any tuning shop since most don't know a thing about rotary.

Its a little far from where I live and I shouldn't be pushing the car. I can always flat bed it there if I can't find a closer tuning shop.

 

Do you have anyway of actually tuning the car? Like a standalone or Power Fuel Controller?
I'd call Marco at Magnus Motorsports, he's in Woodbridge area. Very good with Rotaries..

 

I'm pretty sure that we use a different rating system for our gasoline than they do in Japan...

You guys are sending this poor gentleman on a wild goose chase. Nigel's in Markham on Heritage (905-294-6424) partners with one or two JDM importers by inspecting FOB JDM cars before they go to their final customer. My racecar is at his shop right now as are about four FC's, two FB's, etc. Tell him Jason told you to call.

Nigel does good work, and he's a nice guy.

 

When I get back from Petit Le Mans I'll have the car moved up to my house and mock up the new Sparco seat, RE Aememiya front end, etc. and take some photos. The motor is 95% complete, just awaiting shipment of a couple finishing touches from Pineapple Racing. Home shopping and purchase ATE the entire summer up! :-(

 

I will be getting some tuning at Mazdee's Performance in Pickering Ontario. Have some spots I need cleaned up on the dyno.

yeah, i've got a Power FC. My friend referred me to Neetronics, but I'm not sure how much they charge for tuning.
