Results Shannonville Test Day May 21
We went out with the Image Motorsports gang yesterday to Shannonville testing our new P.Port engine. WOW! I have never gone that fast in a straight line before. The engine is unbelievably responsive and pulls right to 11,000rpm! The car was on rails out there and ran very fast and very consistant. No power drop offs, temp spikes or anything. I did over shoot a few corners because I'm not used to the high end acceleration. An interesting side note, the rotors we used were a matched set from Mazda, but we DIDNT balance the rotating assembly. After talking with an engineer and seeing the rotor run in a housing (he had one set up) he said trying to balance it was a waste of money. After running yesterday to 11,000rpm all I can say is he was right. The old engine that was balanced is not a smooth a this one which isnt. The new engines eccentric shaft is micro polished and the rotors are race clearenced all done by Mazmark. The engine is proof that quality assembly and proper clearencing is what makes big power! Our next race will be Shannonville June 4

Nice. See you there.
A good P.Port should put out between 300-320 hp at the engine, so about 260280 at the wheels. Engine os only about 2 hours old, so we havent dynoed it yet. The car weighs 2200lbs without me in it.
You are putting down some crazy POWAH .... 300-320 hp at crank = 260280hp at the wheels!! How do you get traction???!?!?!?!?
Sticky Hoosier tires for one, and because of my transmission I come out of corners at the bottom of the power band, so wheel spin isnt a problem, but it would be with the right gearing! 1st gear is just a big burn out though (lol)
