Thumbs up Replacement for Dunnville? Old news to some, but check it out!

Hey folks, for those that were lamenting the demise of Dunnville, here's the long awaited solution!

Set to open this spring, a new track at the Edenvale Aerodrome. Here's the link to the thread on the CASC-OR website:

http://www.casc.on.ca/forums/showthread.php?p=161619

Hopefully this is the return of affordable lapping! I'm in luck, it's only about 15 minutes away from my place! Maybe I don't need that gold CAA card after all for when i break crap!

Cheers,

Matt

Yup, it would be as close as Mosport is to me. Here's the track layout, hope they put some banks in it like they were planning to do for Dunnville. That would be imba. There's a lot more corners and the track is much bigger then Dunnville.

According to the fellow who is preparing Lee's school cars, the funding for paving is not in place. So, while there is the existing runways, the complete track may not be ready, at least for the early part of the season.

There is also reaonably reliable story that says that the paving for Dunville was never completely paid for, so there many not be a lot of companies lining up to pave the new track...

Its scheduled to be open/ready on Canada day and a track group I know of already booked a July 3rd track date. I'm probably going to check it out

I've known Lee for 15 years, hopefully he can get this to work after the Dunnville debacle. Damn locals.

I hope that the land isn't totally flat. A good course should have elevating and descending terrain like Mosport or if any of you have ever seen Cadwell Park (youtube it), that place is awesome, just needs to be a bit wider.

As of Friday, 'we' stopped by to talk to them about the 2nd track, they have not gotten the permissions to break ground on the track in the picture above.. however they are willing to take your money for Canada day weekend opening laps.. as some of the locals have already booked in.

The 'SON240' track, IS this track.. as is apparent it's not their track but bing like to take credit for everything he sees.

.. well looks like I was wrong, that 'onyx' group seems to be trying to get there own track set up.. so 3 tracks, Auto-ing in ontario will be all about extremes in the next year or so.. a crap tone of tracks.. but were all going to be driving 35-80k, everywhere, to get to them..

you're complaining about a 35-80KM drive?

I can't even get TO TOWN without a 35km drive, nevermind to my nearest track.

sorry my mistake.. I meant KPH ... as in "going so slow as to reach coffin dodger age before you actually get TO the track.."

The new Edenvale track is ~15-20 min from my shop so it's perfect. Just hope it actually makes it to the build stage..
