registering a car without papers?
registering a car without papers?
Hi
Does anyone know if there is any way to register a car without papers?
Im talking to a guy with an RX7 and he doesnt have any ownership papers for it (he used it as a drag car). So im trying to see if theres a way I can get it registered so I can use it as a street car.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Has the car ever been registered in Canada? What year? Is the car a JDM or US import? I ask that because if it was brought in as an exemption prior to the 15 year rule (for use exclusively as a race vehicle, for example), it can never be registered in Canada, even if it would now be allowed to be imported.
Your best bet is going to be to contact a provincial DMV branch and find out what info they would require. At the very least, you're going to need the VIN, which they would use to check to see if the car's ever been reported stolen, etc.

Assuming its not as complicated as posted above..
In ON you are sol without signed papers.. they will give you a forum requiring the signature of the last registered owner, whom you can get the name only of from the used vehicle info pack you will have to buy providing you do have the vin for the car..
Its up to you to track down the registered owner (sometimes easy and sometimes not)
I know this from experience.. Good Luck!
