Was At Racing Beat on Friday
I was in L.A. on Friday last week and thought I would drop by Racing beat to see if they had any cool new stuff. Met with one of the counter people, Brian and he was great with advice and interest in what I was doing.
Just wanted to let you guys know that we 2nd Gen fans have a kindred spirit in Brian. Definite thumbs up for Racing Beat. Just have to work on the credit card purchasing issue.

What 'credit card purchasing issue'?
Today I put in an order with Mazdatrix, and the only issue I had was that since my CC's address was here in Canada but I wanted them to ship to Ogdensburg NY, I had to call my CC company and get them to add the UPS Store as a "secondary address"
They did it, and my order shipped.
What's the CC problem with RB? I might be ordering stuff from them in the near future.

I imagine thier CC issue would be along the lines of, you require a credit card to purchase from us. No other alternatives that I know of. Mind you, I just goto RX-7 specialties and buy directly from them. Works out to about the same as if I ordered from RB directly, and Paid out the *** for shipping/fees.

To answer your questions:
1) The Racing Beat Credit card thing is that they are very reluctant to take out of U.S. based credit cards in person and never over the phone. You can use them in person with 2 pieces of ID, but you cannot order over the phone unless you can somehow convince them it will be okay (i.e. the card charge has to clear your domestic bank finance center before they will ship, this can take 30 days) before they ship. They prefer to deal internationally with cheques (still needs to clear), money orders (still needs to clear) or wire transfers. I guess they must have got burned really bad in the past. This issue is why a lot of Racing Beat products are sold through Mazdatrix, Pettit, Mazdacomp, etc...., they take cards.
2) I will not be at the CSC Race and Solosprint day this weekend, sorry. CSC is about an hour and a half away from Oakville and CSC has only a few things that I can buy from them. Bought my HANS device hookup from them last fall, but I need to order most of my other stuff in. For racey consumables I go to Grisdales in Flamboro (about 20 minutes away) or Bicknell's in St. Catharines. Besides got to use my free time getting the pig ready to race.
Saw a ton of really cool stuff at RB as well. Some motors and motor stuff, some suspension stuff and some technical books. Well worth the trip.
