ON Question / Vibration in backend

Hello all,

It has been a while since I posted, been a bit busy, but I was hoping I could find someone who may have some knowledge and perhaps expertise that would help in my situation.

Here is the scenario:

This past summer, while driving my 93 FD, I noticed that when I reach about 120KM/H I start having vibration in the back end..

At the same time I needed to get my brakes done, when I brought it to the shop, I asked the mechanic to check the driveshaft and he mentioned that it was loose.

Even when he 'tightened it' the vibration is still happening.

I was hoping to find a shop/person who has knowledge of this issue, and could possibly quote me on a fix.

I am interested in getting this done when the weather clears up a bit (spring time)..

Any thoughts?

Obvious place to start would be wheel damage or tire balance....

Eric- I see what you did there And you just hit 2000 posts!

Are you positive that it is coming from the rear? DO you feel it on the steering wheel at all? As JDK said above, check your wheels for correct tire pressures and balancing. If you have a warped rear rotor, that can cause a vibration as well because most people just change the pads and forget that the rotors can become warped over time.
Drive shaft is VERY unlikely to become loose as I have never heard of something like that ever occurring.
If you want, txt me at 6479295297 and you can bring it by and if you want leave it at my shop and I will take a look if that makes it easier on you.

I do not feel it on the steering wheel. It has been a lil while since I drove it, (in garage since October).

I changed rear pads, rotors, everything.. I am fairly certain its not the new brakes (was a problem before brakes were changed).

The drive shaft thing happened, it was 'loose', I had them tighten it, but it seems like there is an issue.

Where is your shop?

I will text you.

For some strange reason after reading the title quickly, I am getting images of Nicki Minaj and J-LO.

Did you figure out what was causing it?

Also interested.

My Subaru Tribeca recently started to vibrate from I think the rear, only on throttle though. Sometimes harsh and sometimes just a little.

After reading through the internet I am petrified its transmission/ torque convertor.....

Possible caliper sticking in the rear would cause vibration. Also, tightened the driveshaft? I can't see the driveshaft bolts coming loose.... but I could see a u-joint being bad in driveshaft which could def cause that vibration. Only way to check it properly is to remove the driveshaft from the car and check the u-joints for excessive movement or sticking/seizing.
