having an fd is something special, if i were to import a rhd car it would be of sumthing that is not available here ie. skyline, pulsar etc. poeple that will be buying the fd will be young kids most likely so i wont worry about them too much, 1 they wont be able to handle the car and they will most likely have to rebuild the motor soon and seeing they are kids unless are working full time wont have the money to keep the car up in shape. So you wont see many rhd fd's around. But it does take away that special feeling of owning an fda nd you worked your *** off to get when now a young kid can go and get a lil loan from the bank and BAM they got themselves an fd jus my .02

well

I have about $9000 (give or take, not sure exactly but that's probably close) into my '93. It's got a clean title but has been crashed, not that anyone could ever find the damage, but it's still there.. I got a CRAZY deal. if jdm cars were this available even 6 months ago, I'd be driving an uncrashed RHD machine for a similar price to what I paid for my car!

Though uncrashed JDM ones seem to be tough to find... soooo many grade R cars.

I have to disagree with everyone who is pissed about the RHD FD's becoming available. I personally am going to be buying my rhd FD within the next couple of months and should have my car here before june. The reason that I wanted to buy a fd is for the same reason that everyone else in this world is, but due to the fact of the price of the jdm fd's are reasonable it now makes it feasable for me to buy one. As everyone knows most fd's require a decent amount of attention and usually a decent amount of money from the cheque book to keep them running. So instead of me buying a car thats going to cost around 17-20grand with around 100,000km on it and probubly needing a rebuild in the near future, i will be spending under half of that for the same type of car.

You say that if you were to import a car from japan that it would be something special thats not sold here and you list a skyline as a car that you would import. But the thing is that skylines are a car that every kid is importing from japan and thats as big reason of why I don't want one. They are way to popular and don't have near the styling and handling that a FD has. I also don't understand how spending $20,000 on a FD gives you some special feeling of ownership compared to spending $8,000 on a FD. I am 22 years old and work full time. I currently own my own house and just recently bought myself a 04 dodge ram. If it wasn't for the price of these FD's from japan it wouldn't make it realistic for me to be spending 20grand on a LHD FD that I will only drive for 4-5 months of the year. At least with the jdm prices it would be the same as me buying myself another street bike to have as a summer toy.

you all have to stop being so pissed off at the fact that someone will be buying a comparable car as what you have for a lot less. You bought your car before everyone else did and have had the pleasure of owning one longer than anyone else, plus your car will always generate more respect and be worth more, but don't bitch at anyone who buys a jdm fd and tell them to leave the "RX-7 community be" with their LHD only cars.

Have to agree with football, I don't know if anyone remembers but a couple of years back I was on this forum asking about an fd, after noticing the price tag on this thing I gave up on it. And here I am now a couple of years later with an FC. Buying an FD never crossed my mind again, as it would be impossible (being only 16 years of age). Even though insurance will be high as ****, the dream of owning an FD is somewhat still plausable now.

BTW, we should stop shitting this guy's thread.
