Tell me about it, I use to get a birthday screw. Now I don't even get that!
John,
Happy Birthday. Your too old to worry about Birthdays..... Easter ........ Christmas ........ other what you perceive as important days in your life!
Just get on with it and die! LOL
Cheers & Enjoy the day if you can!

As a kid, you look forward to birthdays, with presents. When you're married with children (Al Bundy), you're too busy to notice or care. But when you're past your prime, you got to try and make it count...you don't know if you'll be around next year.
Thanks guys.
PS: Is 51 considered old?

Good God, you guys with your being old crap.... I am older than most of you and I still feel life is opening up to me with new and fun opportunities. You are only as old as you allow yourself to feel. Hell, my job is getting busier, my racing is going crazy again... I am working out again and getting in better shape, I have a 13 year old son at home that I go cycling with and goofing around with all the time. Life is great fun and we should all embrace the reading glasses eyes, the hair thinning and the way it gets harder to burn that weight off.
I balance the growing older with being more immature. And yes, I stopped celebrating birthdays when I turned forty. I just take a lot shorter viewpoint on the world now, basically season by season.

^ Great post. It's all about attitude and accepting the fact that it's just a number. The focus should be on enjoying life and what makes you happy. If you make others happy while doing this, you'll especially feel complete.
Or, you can do as my buddy says: "You're only as old as the woman you feel", so get a young gf and the drama will keep you busy.
