Paint Job

Hi all, Ok I'm thinking of getting the 87 Rx repainted, same colour... Blue.
Does anyone around Ottawa/Hull area know of a good place to bring it, or someone that does that on the side but is good. The car only needs a sanding and painting. Has anyone heard if Maaco is good.

regards

Xtreise

maaco has the worst reputation of any francise I have ever heard of.
I dont live in the area so I couldn't really suggest anything other than maaco.

Ditto on Maaco, I can remember them bringing cars in our shop for alignments with the paint still tacky. Shop around, most important things about a paint job is prep and paint quality. I did a cheap paint job once, did good prep but used cheap paint, what a disappointment over time, paint faded in no time..

When it comes to painting its a buyers market. There so many body shops out there, I would suggest hitting up some of the smaller ones and getting quotes. It also depends on what quality of job you are looking for. If you are looking for something half decent then random private body shops are good. If you are looking for soemthing really good then you can find those also. I had mine done at a place called Airport Auto Center just (just behind the airport on Limebank). He did a good job on my car (sealer, base, clear). I brang it to him already sanded and with all the seals off, he just masked and painted. Based on that experience I would definately leave the final sanding to a pro! PM me if you want more info...
