Hey Guys

So she's a dirty mess, but the 808 is out of the barn and ready to go for summer. Started second turn and ran like she just came off the showroom floor... 40 years ago!

So as much as I love rotaries...Im still always learning, So Id love to take in some info here. What is a 808 and how does it differ from an RX3 etc? Or is the 808 not rotary as i have never heard of one. It looks like the nose of an RX3

 

Its basically an RX3 but with a 4cyl instead of a rotary. Some other slight differences but same body. Mine is about as highly optioned as they came. Only ever read of one other with a stock tach.

and fyi, often Mazda offered a piston powered version of the old RX's. That went until the cosmo if I'm not mistaken. I don't think they offered a non-rotary cosmo/RX5.

 

And as for the RX3 Bruno, not much progress over the last year. Rotary Shack still has my motor and I haven't had time to get into the necessary body work. Stripped most of the old bondo off and there is certainly some work to do. Solid car though.
