I was looking around and I haven't seen a mention for a 2008 Ottawa Mazda Meet, is there one happening this year? I was looking forward to it this year with the hopes of making it. I missed it last year, going from Richmond, VA to Niagara to Ottawa, Niagara and back to Richmond would of been too much, even in 4 days. I'm starting a new job in a week and a half so I know I should be able to make it this year. So what's the news?

i haven't heard anything yet either.
if the organizers (you know who you are) need help putting stuff together let me know, i'd be glad to help out.

i have a buddy who is in Ottawa now that just came back from film school this past fall, i was thinking about talking to him to film and put a proper documentary or something together for this year's Ottawa meet.

 

Word on the street is one of the main organizers is moving to Europe...

 

i hope to make it this year if it happines, mine let go half way there last year, i made it all the way to colberg.....the ottawa meets are always fun....

 

Yeah I hope we have one. My friend Marc will be making his first appearance in a first gen that's being completely overhauled by RPM and Fearless Customs. Should be an amazing little FB.

Mine's going to be there as always, in better shape than it's ever been. Just gets better ever year. Hopefully one of these years I'll blow more than 7.2kg/cm2 on the comp test... but I'll need to finish my engine build first.

I vote for last weekend of may or first of June, in hopes of good weather.

I'm just speculating, but I don't think a big 'official' meet is happening this year.

 

Well if the usual organizers have reasons that they can't do it this year that sucks but they can definitely let us know and I'm sure others among us will pick up the ball and run with it.

The usual gang has done an incredible job in past years, but there's no reason that OMM2k8 should fall through. It may have to change venue, cruise route, or whatever, but the sooner we can figure out who's doing what the easier it will be to plan it out.
