It is amazing yet....several times I have read of people who 'cashed' in money orders from a pending sale at their legit bank, then as someone said...2 weeks later same bank comes back and says the money order is fake and there on the hook. HOW?? I don't know but somehow the scammer's have found a loophole and it takes the bank 1-2 weeks to find out the money order is not legit...and of course THEY can't be out the money....so joe smoe looses and the bank doesn't. In this day of electronic information you wouldn't think it could happen but it does. BE WARY.

 

You can ask the bank to call the other bank to make sure its real. That way you don't have to wait 2 weeks to make sure its real.
