Unhappy No response from multiple vendors...

Hi all,

About 2 weeks ago I started email a bunch of different vendors for 2 parts that I want to order.
First is a polyurethane set of bushings all around. And I was leaning more towards the prothane kit because it seems to be a little easier to obtain here in Canada.
Second is a stainless clutch line so I can hurry up and replace my slave cylinder already!!!

So I emailed Corksport to verify that their listed Canadian Vendors are in fact still supplying their parts, and I had a few questions about other parts as well. I don't want to order from the states because of duties, which even usps ground to canpost ground is like 20-30 bucks. No thanks. I still haven't gotten an email back from them, its been two weeks now.

Then I emailed xtreme visions - one of corksports listed vendors in Quebec - asking for a quote for the 2 parts, I even supplied the part numbers - I emailed twice in the last two weeks which should notify them that I'm not just some punk emailing them for parts for my 2006 Lambo that I'm picking up in 5 months Still no replay from them.

Then I emailed the Mazda dealer from Quebec who is also listed on corksport's site. Same as above, two emails, no reply. I even went through the trouble of getting my mom to write up an email in FRENCH for those guys in case it was a matter of translation that they weren't replying.

Later, I found the parts on summit racing for about 20 bucks cheaper, but with shipping, handling, and duties it came to almost 20 bucks MORE than ordering from corksport directly. :

So, anybody reading this... any advice as to where I should go from here? If you know anyone in Canada (Ontario would be great) who sells either the prothane kit or the energy suspensions kit, please let me know. edit: oh.. and the stainless clutch line.

Thanks!

If these parts are for an FC, the clutch line can be bought off ebay really cheap. I got mine shipped through usps, total cost was under $30 US. I bought my energy suspension bushing kit through a local performace shop here, if I remember correctly it cost me less than $100. Just look around, I'm sure someone in the GTA can source those parts out for you. Hell if I can find them here in Bruce county you should be able to get them anywhere.

i just bought a clutch line from ebay, company is in scarborough.... 17 bucks

ebay is great, just get the seller to depreciate the value and brokerage duty and taxes will be easier, i ordered some strut bars from california, 21 bucks, plus25 freight and no money at the door

I just bought the Energy Suspension bushings from my local speed shop, Jim's Speed. Ordered on Tuesday, they arrived on Thursday. Any auto parts store can probably get them for you.

As for the clutch line, since Russel makes a clutch line for the car, then any speed shop should be able to order them.

If you think you're FC is special and hard to get parts for, don't ever get into vintage rotaries. Then you really have to start digging to find parts. Shipping from Australia and all over the world kills the bank account.... It's worth it in the end though.

At least your RX-4 was sold in North America. While my Cosmo was technically "sold" in North America, that amounted to 52 cars.

I wonder how many Rx-4's were actually sold though. There sure aren't too many around. At least you can swap alot of parts between the Rx-4's and the Cosmos. I'm dreading getting into the R100 project, although there seems to be more aftermarket support for the R100 than there is for the Rx-4. I just hope my 10A is useable.

The whole system is a scam! The more parts I get shipped to me, the more I hate shipping. Especially when your parts get LOST!

Unless someone working within the system happens to have an rx-4 and needs parts too. We all have our sources I suppose. lol

Edit to post above..
I meant to say "unless someone working within the mail delivery system happens to have an Rx-4." - then your parts wouldn't be getting lost lol

$150 is about right. They cost generally between $120-$130 US online + shipping.

$155 + tax, and no shipping as it's over $75, they are Canadian, so no brokerage!
